The mosquitoes in the forests north of Syracuse, New York, look and sound more dangerous than they actually are. I don’t tend to get bitten; perhaps it’s because I’m primarily a vegetarian.

There is a lot of life between “saving the planet” urgency and so-rural-no-WiFi. I am a such a big fan of Jennyatlax, and what I know of you through the internetz, I’m certain I would enjoy sitting around a campfire getting to know you in person. I send jennyatlax my admiration for amazing photojournalism….I send Fred Haseney my best wishes for the warmth of true friends, for opportunities that live up to the heart you have for them, and for karma to give back to you what you have paid in. You’ve lived a LOT of life lately…I also wish you rest and peace. (insane mosquitoes…are you near me?)

Oh wow Fred – Well you’ve always got a friend in Riverside and do keep in touch! I hope wherever you call home now, you’re very happy to be there and surrounded by people that make you feel welcome, at home & safe. Smiles & hugs plus I’ll definitely still keep you in my prayers!

I live where even wi-fi can sometimes be sketchy. It’s a nice change, so I log on when I can. I sat by the campfire this evening, defending myself from mosquitoes while my friend’s dog couldn’t figure out why he and I weren’t playing ball for the umpteenth time.

If I had tried to do this after leaving the Sea Org some years back, the pull of that bubble would have been too strong for me and I would have returned to scientology and that way of life pronto. Even coming here 23 months after leaving scientology for good is a bit of a challenge. Why? Because all of this-campfires, insects, dogs-are all just a waste of time when you have a planet to Clear, for Xenu’s sake!

Well, I’ve relocated far, far away from Southern California and the tentacles of the so-call “church of scientology. If I ever change my mind about going back, I’ll let you know. Watts has sure changed over the years, ever since the Blue Line from train from Los Angeles to Long Beach helped breathe more life into that community.

I’ll be happy to help, once more, when I get established. The Bunker is THE reason why I left the so-called church of scientology; I’m so glad to have been able to contribute to our cause.

I’ve returned near to where I attended high school: in Mexico, New York (one mile south of Texas, NY), on the Canadian border, so you were actually more right than wrong with my having emigrated to Canada.

It is much, much better that I left Los Angeles when I did, believe you me.

Actually, I’ve already authored a biography of late actor Jeff Chandler, that can be found in libraries. My pen name is “Jeff Wells.” Otherwise, an e-mail is a good thought. Thank you.

Where are you living now? – if you want to tell (?). I looked on the US map where it could be and thought East Coast or Florida because of the mileage. I don’t think that you have emigrated to Canada or Mexico :).
I appreciated your photo reporting which was very well done but thought/was worried that they had lined up further things for you. It’s probably better that you moved away from it all.
Have you ever thought about writing a book. Many did and you have – I guess – some time? Your writing style is good and maybe you could publish it as an e-book and write it as a memoir as I think that is easier legally. Just my thoughts – others would know better.

Fred, it’s great to hear from you! I’ve been a little worried at the long silence.

I don’t blame you a bit for preferring to stay off the front lines, and it doesn’t detract in the least from the wonderful body of work that you produced. We all know a lot more about how Scientology operates day to day because of you, and that is no small thing.
