I've mentioned before that I began in a NY mission, the went to the NY org later. For the most part, it was absolutely great fun. Lots of product, little problems, declared by LRH personally in Power D&F.

No I can't imagine being connected to DM in any way. Back then, I had a pretty nasty quick temper and had he struck me, he'd have been almost instantly out cold. I did not suffer fools gladly. (The taming of the temper was finally accomplished, btw.)

I really don't defend Hubbard. He did cobble together some highly useful information and it came from *somewhere*. If it were good info, I'm happy for that. It helped *me*, in any case, and I'm grateful it was presented. (Life can be strange, and some of my most useful lessons came from very unlikely people and events.)

It's become clear that Hubbard was missing a few rails on the track. But one did not have to experience scn without figuring some things out. For instance, the SO 1 line. How could it even be possible? It couldn't, so I rejected that internally as PR and BS.
I found his Code of Honour useful. Still do. There are a couple of things I didn't think right in there and just didn't use them. Did DN work for me? Yes, quite effectively. Did scn tech work for me? Yes. I only had one really bad session/auditor and once I realized it, I put down the cans and said, "This session is over" and walked out. Once the kerfuffle was straightened out, the auditor was sent back for redos and I was credited with the time. D of P even told me I'd done the right thing. :)

Yes, I've heard many stories about LRH from Hana, who is a dear and beloved friend. One of the finest humans I've ever met and one of the most ethical.

And yes, I'm UTR. I simply am not interested in being targeted by the remaining idiots, the top of the list being DM.

Thanks for your answer, Peter. I know where you are coming from. Yes, I was in (15 years). Sorry, I assumed you knew. I was only few weeks public when I joined staff (Munich). After two years there, I joined the Sea Org to go to the Ship/Freewinds in December 1986, where I was 13 years. I was working in the Hotel Division, the last years in the Sky Lounge on the promenade deck till one day I got taken of post and escorted to the engine room by a security guard without any explanation; I had annoyed the 'Management' and was sent there as a punishment and then interrogated about my 'crimes'. Then I was an 'ethics-particle' restricted/detained on the Ship for 15 months till I got released.

"There definitely IS a difference". Sure, Hubbard was auditing, Miscavige not - that's what I said to another ex, when I was still arguing like you and defending Hubbard, some while ago. Can you imagine to be DM's pc? Horror. But have you seen the videos from Hana Whitfield? (Youtube, "Hana Whitfield Interview on L Ron Hubbards early abuses Part 1/6"). She was there too at the very front line.

Where were you on lines? Just if you can/want to tell (- I don't know if you are UTR or so).

Interesting views. Were you ever in yourself?

"What makes up the good which was to be found in Scn, is what good people brought into it and what Hubbard took from other sources."

There was, to my mind, a lot of good. I realized, early, that the only person really doing "The Work" in a session with ME, the pc. Hubbard was not my auditor nor was the auditor doing "The Work." Thus I began, early, owning my own "wins". (Oh, yes, I said the right words and filled out the right "success" stories. But I knew was finding the information, dealing with it and making changes in my life. Many others I knew did, as well.

In retrospect, I can't say I know for sure where any/all of it came from. That the stuff that worked so well was there was good enough for me. I was never attracted to the SO myself, but had/have close friends who worked directly with Hubbard. I've heard a lot of the horror stories from them, too. But the true insanity of actions didn't really begin to roll downhill to the outer orgs (where I was until the late 70s. I also find it most interesting that in the late 70s-early 80s, there was a juxtaposition of (1) Hubbard on the run, (2) Miscavige in the #1 position sitting on the communication lines to Hubbard and and feeding him whatever he chose to do so, (3) the rather sudden theft of all the monies from the missions and their subsequent collapse. The time span was very short, then was the Diaspora of an unknown number of long time members, the setup of the "free zone" and what seemed like thousands of declare orders (and virtually all the SO who had ever been close to Hubbard), most without any comm evs (VERY off policy).

Thus, I have never understood, for certain sure, just precisely what happened and what Hubbard did/didn't know. Yes, Hubbard did some nasty things, but there is no record that I know of which said he was virulent to everyone under him, especially all the time as is the case with Miscavige. There definitely IS a difference.

I don't know how close Jessie Prince was at the time to the scene.

I just don't buy (anymore) into the Indie/Freezone's "Hubbard-good /Miscavige-bad" story, although I think that DM is a sadistic sociopath.
I don't think Hubbard was the genius and benefactor but a narcissistic liar suffering from megalomania who was exploiting the goodwill of good meaning people, exploiting their good meant contributions.
What makes up the good which was to be found in Scn, is what good people brought into it and what Hubbard took from other sources.
KSW was not created to protect Scientologists but to protect Hubbard from being criticized and found out, as it is now used by Miscavige to protect him from being found out. Miscavige is getting rid of everyone who questions him. So did Hubbard.
It was Hubbard who created the Orwellian and fascistic structure of Scientology, not DM. DM is just making the most out of it. He is using it to stay in power and IMO to use his power to satisfy his sadistic inclinations (see Musical Chairs Int Style).
But was Hubbard not also showing sadistic streaks when having a man push a pea on the deck his family watching and having people thrown over board (pinioned), etc?
I believe that it was the Mission holders and the people at the base who made out of Scn basics what appealed to people and then mistakenly attributed their success to Hubbard instead of to themselves (Hubbard made sure that he was viewed as the great source).
To 'invalidate' Hubbard is for them like getting invalidated themselves. They can't separate what they made out of what Hubbard was presenting, from all what Hubbard was producing (including his fascistic 'ethics'/'justice' system) and have to find "reasons why".
This is how I see it today.
