Good to get your take on “the Path”. I haven’t watched yet. I need to check it out before season 2 begins!

Have you watched “The Path” yet? I finally went through all 10 episodes in a marathon session and, overall, I liked it. There were a couple of secondary characters/storylines I didn’t care for but the main plot and star actors interested me. Tighter writing for the weak parts is needed. Season 2 got the greenlight. I’m looking forward to the next installments.

Tracy, I read it very quickly. I get dizzy with this roundabout. I really avoid such conversations as it is kind of like boxing with shadows (also I’M ESL and need too much time to think about what to write which would be effective).

Their agenda is mainly: get the message out that Scn is doing good and the critics are stupid and haters.

What I see is that he steered you away from the argument of abuses in the CoS. Arguing about that he does that is in vain, IMO; he slips out of your fingers like a slippery fish, figuratively.
I’m not an expert in arguing with such a person. What I’m quite good in is finding references (which I’m remembering) from other people.

In the cases when I was involved with such a commenter, I gave short examples of abuses and didn’t go into arguing – I also use the “no-answer” on them.

I don’t argue with them about religion and cults. The only thing I said once was “I grew up a catholic, I got never abused by the Catholic Church but I got abused by the CoS. Of course I didn’t get an answer or got questioned about it but then got ignored.

I’ve never been in Scientology, but I’ve liven long enough to have bad things happen to me. I agree that the worst thing you do is to try to suppress and ignore such an experience. You have to move on, but you also need to assimilate it – and the best. way you can do this is to examine it, preferably with the help of sympathetic friends.

People who go on to study related subjects can find that their first-hand experience gives them a unique insight – as long as they proceed from the general to the particular, and not the other way around.

With respect, that seems to be another mistake that ex-Scientologists make. Scientology is a special case of a toxic social situation which facilitates the manipulation of people. you can’t truly understand it by getting in closer. You have to stand well back, and see the striking similarities in so many other world-views (some of which are relatively benign, others even worse than the CofS). Then you can return to your experience and see it in a wider perspective.

As for the mistakes that ‘never-ins’ make – i’m a living reference work for those.

Ok! I read all 3 parts and I have been reading it before, i remember. I also see what you mean by it’s a natural thing in high pressure groups and there are many of those. And i “study” this from my experience with Scientology and you don’t – perfect 🙂 That’s calms me down a great deal as I am trying to understand where we are heading in this world. Reaching 50+ make you think with a greater perspective and a desire to predict the future. One thing i believe is wrong with people that is leaving the cult, is that they abandon every observation and will have nothing to do with it, thus leaving a vacuum and not filling it up with more reasonable experience from other sources. Not talking about people or execs on this forum, they are certainly doing their part, but those who left the cult and who i just had to give up, on the reason that they are just in a “comfortably numb” zone and basically defaulted to where the where before they read LRH and all his wrong values. it’s like – Back to the eighties and lets party! – But that a whole other subject and my noodle is floating 🙂

I am pretty sure that Hubsy was played and DM is too. There is always a bigger fish! Only time will tell. But that i find fascinating and using $cientology as a reference is not a bad start. At least i am learning something other than LRH books. Nice to meet you!

. i have SPECIFICALLY posted information on scientology, and what is going on, questions for you in every post/reply, even questions in the last post i just made and you have NEVER answered or commented on a single 1… you repeat over and over the same thing 1) your not a scientologist but you “understand’ their methods and 2) other religions ask for money as well..
