Is that the final design for the billboard? It takes a lot of work to read.

Try reading it while pretending you don’t already know what it’s for. The first thing my eyes see are “Call Me”. I wonder “What is this for?” and then have to do a visual search before I see the word “Scientology”. Is this a pro-Scientology or anti-Scientology billboard, I wonder? I look backwards and see the words “To my loved one in…” and then have to mentally process the disjoint parts to understand it.

Too much work. Especially when I’m driving a two-ton vehicle 25 miles per hour through Hollywood. (Though yes, I’m being optimistic on my Hollywood driving speed.)

In short, the current design confuses brevity with clarity. No, I don’t have a better idea in mind yet. But this billboard just doesn’t work.

In reply to jazzlover. totally agree re: music forums. in my experience, they're usually full of raging over-opinionated dorks. music is my life. it's what i do, in some capacity, pretty much 24/7/365+. there is no right or wrong kind, just some better than other (can't remember who originally coined that, but Lars Ulrich gets credit for me remembering it) the last thing i want to do is argue with someone about it.

yes, me in the pic, Bristol UK, 2007 tour (i think) … these breadcrumbs have been deleted now that you’ve seen them, tho ;D … “subjectively famous” artist/musician wife and I have some topically-related plans to unveil to all when the time is right.

aside myself, i didn’t really notice anything huffy at the time. i wasn’t aware of any unspoken rules (duh, that’s why they’re unspoken, right?), want us all to enjoy this ride together, and just try to go with the flow. i too have been turned off by a few things here and there, and have had to step away for brief periods to take a deep breath and collect my thoughts before writing something stupider than i usually do. i appreciate the banter with you, immensely, regardless of topic or time of day… but i do generally find myself a bit more flexible about most things than the majority of daily users here ;P
