I am actually waiting to get her family’s last name from his sister and then I was going to reach out to a couple people here with that info for advice and resource. I actually copied your messages and showed to Mom & sister so they realize the love & support here at The Bunker and recognize its not just me being paranoid, but that this is a real serious danger. This is so disturbing. Lambs to slaughter doesn’t begin to describe how they are being manipulated. Your young man needs to become well informed of the Truth about Scientology NOW if he is to be spared a world of hurt. This destructive organization has honed the skills of sucking in people of every age, intellect and ablility and laying their lives to ruin.

Why not run this dilemma past some of the EX-perts here to help provide appropriate resources?

Scientology is not a Church, a religion or a job. It’s a dangerous cult.

Nonetheless, the kids are entitled (and determined) to walk their own paths. That is ultimately as it should be. Sometimes we can only stand by with a safety net and hope for the best.

You’re not a wet blanket at all!!! She comes from a die-hard Scio family and wasn’t super involved the 1.5 years they first dated. She started working at the org a few months back and since he works for his family during the week then goes to LA on the weekends to see her, they’re both not really “getting” that her current hours aren’t just going to be like this during her training as they both have claimed. I think she’s not seeing the full picture and sadly he comes from an unhealthy home so the fact that someone loves and accepts him, he doesn’t want to see any negative. They’re young, saving for their apartment together and in that “people don’t get us/think we’re too young” phase. So we’ve earned him but he truly believes she can just quit if she doesn’t like it and once they move in together, that she can scale back on hours if she wants. He thinks of it as a job for her church, since his mom worked part time for the church we all went to and scaled back hours and later quit, no problem. Our church has helped his parents make mortgage payments and helped them fix their house to short-sell and later to move, so he thinks “most churches are like that.” We’ve definitely let him know, now we sit back and are there for him to keep his eyes open and support them when they later see what they don’t want to now. I’m making sure his parents and sister are fully aware of what he’s getting into.
