Airlines though still charge A LOT—I’ve seen news stories, it’s really ridiculous. That had to have been so hard for your brother, on a multitude of levels. Instead of phoning, he did the right thing and did it in person and of course, no matter the circumstances of relationships that’s still the most difficult news to tell someone, especially parents that their child is gone.

SOMEONE there needs to answer quite a few questions!!! What happened, who buried her, why wasn’t anyone notified—as a US citizen the consulate should have been notified upon passing. I know many parts of Mexico have problems; but I have no doubt that everywhere there are decent people and there are some involved here who you WILL get in touch with—sooner rather than later.

There are so many rabbit holes in so many subjects… 🙂 The best advice I can give is to look at interviews unedited, but it’s usually hard to access the originals. If you’re really interested, study the journalism methods and critical thinking, preferably at the same time.

I am going to maybe email you some info to see what you think, if that’s okay. I believe that because of the mistakes made, and the short time that we contacted them in, we will not be liable for some of the cost. But that theory hasn’t been tested yet, and we have many worries about getting the run around, probably because that’s exactly what we’ve got so far. But I have some siblings with skills, and friends, and its amazing to watch. I even started talking to my brother again. He had driven six hours to tell my parents in person, I just felt so bad for him, you know as much as I was angry, I was also heartbroken for him. he was here a few days and we talked and he apologized a lot. 🙂 But it took me a day to come out of my room, and face him. So some good things are happening among the bad.

Wow, I remember that. We used to call it “2DB’s” lol. It’s a coffee house and news stand now (Bourgeois Pig). The Pig has probably been the longest-lasting business on that corner, it’s been there for decades now.

You might want to contact the State Department if the US Consulate in Mexico is not helpful—or cannot help. Also as I see Juicer says, your local congress person. And if your family doesn’t have the funds—airlines charge A LOT, don’t hesitate to start a gofundme. Repatriating someone who’s passed can be expensive. Don’t let your family get into a financial hole.

I can’t even imagine the range of emotions y’all are going through. I’m so so sorry. You and your family have a lot of love coming from the fringe of the internet! ♥♥♥♥
