Your article brings up all sorts of really depressing memories – all related to the idea of “case” and “case gain.” A staff member is not supposed to have “case on post,” and that merely means that one cannot show any emotion on the tone scale below, maybe, boredom (even that tone is precarious). Any other emotion is considered “case” or irrational regardless of what is happening in the person’s environment or physical condition. It is ludicrous. Yet those little specific instances of Scientology technology “working” is used to trap the person. All answers must be found within the body of Scientology knowledge from then on and without question, it seems, when the actual cause of relief can be found in many activities. A person’s “case” is a constant enemy, an ever changing invisible blog, a constant burden, that seems to grow bigger and more unmanageable as time goes on. The introduction of the idea of “body thetans” when a person reaches OT levels must be overwhelming. “Case” is imaginary and a manufactured psychosis.

Hi Jon. Thanks to your writings on this Blog, I was able to look at the right things, as i always thought that other writers, was more focused, on DM and the money but not LRH and his “tech”. You on the other hand, brought that up very boldly. My first book was Millers Bare-faced Messiah next, A piece of blue sky. Didn’t work for me at the time. I was looking for the Hard-core facts on his “tech”. – Evidence! I could confirm your findings like thought-stopping, 12 year old inside and all the rest of the phenomenons you wrote about. I have seen it and been there, even before i read your descriptions. Not the other way around. I could see my ex-scio friends, perfectly fit in to this and i knew there was something terrible wrong. so i started to disconnect from them, one by one after checking them out. Like i asked them some very simple questions that others would know about – “do you know the word Empathy?” No! They had no idea. 4-5 of them did not know the word or concept. I could ask almost any Wogs and they all knew. Fact – they had never evolved or studiet anything but LRH since 1980 and he did not use the word Empathy but only Sympathy. Then i knew there was more to look fore. In 2014 most, or all, of them severely dismandled there own Family and one by one came to me with all there problems and i saw it all went down the drain, including my own family life. Longs story! Point is – we all agreed on DM was the bad guy in the story, but nobody even thought about LRH and his “tech”. They (incl. Me was convinced that now they where “out” and everything was fine. My take was, that this shit goes deep, very deep 🙂 And that’s where you came in the picture. Mockingbird did a hell of job, collecting excerpts from the books you also advocate and he saved me a lot of time so i didn’t have to read all kinds of wrong books. so while i was waiting for you to come with the next piece on this blog, i read his blog and kinda piggy-bagged on him (he should have a Donate button 😉 Ok! i could go on and on about this, but i think you get the picture! You really helped out and so did Mockingbird.

I agree to, what you have written on Tony’s Blog, is material enough for another book, that would really and finally wipe out any doubt about this evil man and his creations. If LRH was on to something – it was my wallet!

ps. I am waiting for the book – Battle for the Mind by William Sargant – as there is a pasage about how he brings this POW to a condition that is very similar to how LRH imaging Auditing would work, and maybe more interesting stuff.

Techie and THDNE (et al!), this is al true, and yet Hayakawa’s reactions were not alone.

People have perhaps become a bit more jaded ans ‘sophisticated’ (for want of a better word) in the interim, but no smarter.

Yes, today we have the Internet which has kicked the last remaining excuse out fo any ew recruits or dead-enders, but the fact remains: No one with enough common sense to pound sand into rat-hole ever got involved with this nonsense. There is not a single assertion that can hold up to second of rational thought.

Having sought out Scientology (admittedly with a cynical eye) two or three times in the 80’s, I was moved to mock its brutally ham-handed (SO not-Kosher!) hard sell, and utterly nonsensical assertions in a comedy short and a ‘cute’ insurance ad. The both provoked million dollar lawsuits (well, against me — and mind you EXACTLY a million dollars– identical lawsuits were taken out against the network, producers and star of the series).

I will admit, shamefacedly, I thought Scilons were just a mix of the extremely gullible with the mentally deficient/severerly impaired at the time, largely because of my own experiences with the group’s none-too-sophisticated come-ons (details upon request, but I can’t imagine there are many here who don’t know what I am talking about).

Since then, i have met so many really bright people with many complicated and diverse reasons for getting sucked in. Many are much smarter than I, to be sure.

However, I must kick back against this tendency I am hearing more and more that because some study says that more intelligent people lie to themselves better, and because so many (but NOT all) Scilons are basically good folks trying to make the world better (and instead labouring tirelessly to establish the 4th Reich under Hubbard bis, Miscavige), that somehow getting sucked into the maw of this obvious flim-flam machine is a mark of honor, proof of a great heart and intellectual acumen (if not outright superiority)… Not only is this patently ridiculous on itsface, but rhey seem oblivious to the fact that this is either one of two things, or both (with a bit of psychological repair-work on top):

1) This “I care, because I’m special, and better (..” or ‘Chosen’ or a ‘Big Being’ or a ‘Loyal Officer’ or ‘Clear’ or OT’ or ‘at least Not-a-Wog”, etc, etc ad nauseum…) is exactlyt he kind of stinking thinking thzt got them ensnsare dinthe first place. Any con man looks for folkds like that, it is the perfect mark! Rmemeber, “confidence men’ (and women, natch)a ren’t called that because you give them your confidence but because they give you confidence in yourself.. It isn’t just everyone who id quick enough to see where that Quenn or bean went in the 3 Card Shuffle, you know! Now pat yourself on the back while I just help you off with your wallet and clothes and get you into that Sauna…Here drink this, it’s CalMag, isn’t it great? Will that be cash or cash and Charge?

THAT is when I started thinking– Wait, this isn’t innocent, PT Barnum “fools and their money’ stuff, these are nasty folks with VERY short fuses and no sense of humour, playing for keeps.

Yes, it was the Cold War, Red Scares, etc, but it was also just two decades after the Great Depression. Do you think people were just handing away their hard earned cash? I just heard a study last week about how more creative and intelligent people tend to drink more. Plus, hey, a hard childhood (like eery other Schmoe on this ball of dirt), but you won’t hear me trotting thzt shit out when the subject comes up.

The day I decided to mainline daily for a few months was not proof of my superior decison-making abilities.

Nor was any more than Twenty minutes of reading Hubbard. And after that… Either you knew it was BS, or you thought you were too stupid to understand (because it seemed like BS), admit it. But you stayed and should have gfone; Big deal. It was a dumb mistake. People make them all the time (because we are NOT (nor SHOULD we aspire to be!), COMPUTERS.

But admitting it was a bad decision is necessary to make sure you don’t make more like it in future.

It makes sense. In the beginning we seemed to generally be enough alike and had the same interests that it made connection easy.

The types of folks who got angry are a lot like me- genuine and wanting to see and believe the best about people, and weren’t around to see what I saw during that time.

And boy was I angry about Cosby. That’s a whole other ball of wax.. I even wrote an article about it, saying that if someone can make you feel that good by laughing they can also make you drink poison.

I think belief is a powerful thing and can create (and destroy?) maybe more than we know. Problem for me is I doubt it breaks the laws of physics, and too many people out there are just out for control, of others minds or pocketbooks.
