Well, next time I am coming to Cobalt, and that probably won’t be until there is a family event, I will find you. I was also an SF fan in Toronto. I have been going to local conventions and world cons since 1970 when Isaac Asimov and Anne McCaffrey were guests at an event here. I have only been to a couple of the Ad Astra’s though. I will occasionally go to the parties.

I hope you are enjoying Cobalt. My family loves it and used to ask me when I was going to move up. I would tell them that I like where I was born, too, and had no plans for moving up. Most of the ones born in the north stayed in the north in not in Cobalt.

What mustard?

I’m a writer and reader. Mostly Science Fiction and Fantasy, with a smattering of Horror. Back when we lived in the Toronto area I used to volunteer at SF cons. I knew L. Ron Hubbard as a Science Fiction writer, which is why I one day picked up a copy of Dianetics, which was the most incredibly boring book I’ve ever read.

While I wasn’t involved in Scientology v. The Internet, I’m a geek, so I knew about it, and thought it was a pretty stupid move by Scientology.

About 4-5 years ago, I stumbled on a couple of articles by Tony at the Village Voice, and they piqued interest. From there I found Mark Rathbun’s blog, XenuTV, Operation Clambake, etc. and Scientology watching became a hobby of mine.

Three years ago we moved north, so we could be closer to my wife’s mother – her dad died a couple of years ago, and both my parents are dead, so it seemed like a good idea.

We’d be more likely to meet in Cobalt. My body is wrecked, and I don’t travel very well anymore.
