I have nothing against people not liking it, or even thinking they saw the film a completely different way (or ignoring it altogether). But almost predictable comments about it being written by an OSA operative will be disappointing.

You should post this Edward, on the Bunker. You obviously have put a lot of thought and time into it.

Edward, I like your review actually. It is well written, but until I see the movie myself, I couldn’t say whether it’s objective or represents the movie itself.
Perhaps if you had a body of work and a past catalog of reviews others might take you more seriously here.

Um, I knocked it up in Word, it became overlong, then yesterday the most level-headed review yet was viewed suspiciously on here (!!!), so rather than just dump it, I rewrote it for a ‘civilian’, and chucked it on a blog. Warning, it’s long, and not kind to Rathbun (as I believe the film isn’t), so feel free to avoid. But it’s here anyway:

I’m a bit late to the discussion but it’s important to add that, as well as the Mark Lane/ Garrison theories, theJFK the movie is also partly based on the story of L Fletcher Prouty, who was the inspiration for Donald Sutherland’s character Mr X.

Prouty was a shill for $cientology, wrote for their Freedumb Magazine and it was he who came up with the story of Fatty’s war records being “sheep-dipped.” A bit of a nut job!

I’ve seen several documentaries on Garrison’s loony witch-hunts trying to prove his ridiculous conspiracy theories. He had no qualms about ruining innocent people and did so without regret as he spiraled out of control. I stand by my opinion that he was a nut. However, if you wish to see him as something else, go right ahead.
