Your post about the blimps today reminded me of my youth. I attended elementary school in a town in Portage County. The blimps would fly over our house every once in a while and I would watch them until they were gone. We took field trips to Stan Hywet every other year, and we used to go to Akron to sled down a hill at Virginia Kendall Park. There were nature trails near there. Thanks for the memories! They're good ones.

And the Fatman was against abortion anyway. Given that, it's odd that any Scientologist would consider abortion an option, and truly insane that the SO, "the most ethical group on the planet," would ever condone it much less force someone to have one (as they have many times).

According to the Fatman's bloviation in Book Two (Science of Survival): "Anyone who would consider an abortion for any reason other than to save her own physical life is at 1.1 or below." That's a quote from memory so it's probably not exactly right but it's close enough.

Right or wrong, that's what their precious Source had to say on the matter. I wonder if Miscavige excised that sentence from the New-New-New versions of the book.

Since I've been out, the Scientologists I've been in touch with are the ones who are under the radar. There are many of those. Folks who are under the radar have already woken up, but have to be under the radar for family or business reasons. So there's no need to discuss these subjects with them.

One true believe who I spoke with at length on these subjects said that on the Purif he had gone exterior, and this proved to him that the Tech was true, that he was an immortal spiritual being and that Scientology was the route out. To this person, no amount of abuse, or fund raising, or fascism in Scientology would ever change that truth.

Even if LRH never made it to full OT, to this person, there is enough truth is Scientology to make it worthwhile, and he would not let anything impede his ability to do the OT levels (he's not even Clear). This guy has been in Scientology for 25 years and was on staff for about 10 of them.

It would probably take his family being torn apart by disconnection to MAYBE wake him up.

I don't expect any Scientologist to straight-up wake up when being asked these questions. But these questions are the pressure points that everything else rests on. While I was on staff or on the SO, it never even occurred to me that I was being misled about basic organizational facts like expansion. To a true believer, and especially to staff members, once they come around to realize they are actually being lied to about basic things like expansion, it really does open up the whole can of worms of "what else am I being lied to about?"
