Hey again, Susan. It’s ok about Five Wheel Drive. They were a good group but, alas, no more. Marji can sing alright but, after that overt, she went on staff. haha Those who can’t do, teach. Those who have overts, blow and go into something totally different. Now Marji is the Queen Bee of her own org so she doesn’t have to “sing” back up to anybody but the Sea Org.

Dale LaDuke and Kris Garrett are still doing music (Dale more than Kris at the moment) and are good musicians/performers. Still in, as far as I know.

I didn’t know that you hadn’t been in. For a minute, I thought you were a Susan who used to be on staff at CC Nashville.

In all fairness, there are some things that are beneficial to people. Even though Hubbard is painted with a broad stroke as someone who couldn’t give a shite about anybody but himself, he actually did do some good and did care – even if it was more at the beginning than later on.

I have many friends – in and out – and all will tell you that they benefited from Scientology in one way or the other. Even some of the Bunkerites here have said as much. So, just like a story in the National Enquirer, there is some truth to it or it wouldn’t stick. But, if you looked at the Bridge like a ladder, there are definitely some rungs missing. 😉

Hiya Indie ~ yeah, the image of a crappy useless bridge ‘for sale’ always sticks with me when I think on Scn. Inc… so when I get an opportunity to post a photo of one, I do. I get your point, I think, about ego gettin’ in the way of making ‘good’ decisions. For me, as a person never processed by Hubbard-think, it is still a trap anyone can fall into. Ah to be human!
Another apt euphemism might be: “Cutting off the nose to spite the face”, eh?! I will check out this music group Five Wheel Drive. C ya ’round. 🙂

Haha, Susan. That bridge is surely in trouble. But I meant for their music group. Warner had the pen out to sign and Margie wouldn’t put her ego in her pocket and sing background to anyone so the whole deal sank, just like your bridge here. Yep. No one I know ever accepted the 55 mph limit. It’s gone now anyhow. E type Jags are one of the most beautiful cars made, IMO. We have alway had Brit cars of some sort; love the aesthetics, hate the reliability. We’ve had TR4 (for road racing only) TR7 (worst car ever owned), 2 Lotus Europas S2 and ’74, and 65 Élan. Since the Elan is too valuable and impractical as a daily driver in the city, the hubby drives a Honda S2000 CR.

“Thirteen” by Big Star was Eric and Donna’s “song.” Someone on that show’s staff had damned good taste in music (and knew obscure 70s stuff).
