Sorry, I’m 3 days late with this…it just now popped up in my email as an “interesting discussion”.

Possibly “Rain Man” (ONLY because of Dustin Hoffman) or “Jerry McGuire” (ONLY because of Rene Zellweger) or “A Few Good Men” (ONLY because of Jack Nicholson). Gosh….just realized this…with any of these films you could substitute any other actor in Cruise’s part, and it wouldn’t affect the film whatsoever.

Oh, Daisy, that’s not my analysis, unfortunately. No, I’m too lazy-minded to come up with something so cogent. I shared a quoted section from a movie review website. But I’m with you about some of the more surreal aspects of Magnolia. I had trouble with them, too. Like the frogs–definitely took me out of the movie. But the performances, as you note, were spot-on. Not my fave PTA flick, but I love that director in general so I’ll give almost anything he does a fair shot.
