Rogers, like Stewart, could match Twain for pithy zingers. But neither could touch his actual ability as a writer of both entertaining fiction and down right stunning political analysis and serious social commentary.

Only Franklin ever came close to Twain, but of course he wasn’t a novelist.

Never heard of that one but any NLP activity is one I will not endorse . One of the problems with NLP is that it involves covertly manipulating people in a way that is unethical for most people. I would read a bit of critical info on NLP if I were you to be wise to any tricks he might want to pull on you . And I must stress that it is a fraud and pseudoscience packed with lies .

My sis-in-law works at an alternative health clinic that offers a mix of offerings. One fellow in residence has a masters in counseling, masters of divinity and certs in NLP. I don’t want to go near that guy, but I am told that he’s not a cultish leader sort-of-guy, and that his personal 1-on-1 counseling style really does help people. Just reporting.

I don’t buy it. Not having to behave or talk decently is why most are here.This blog gives people a chance to talk in ways that are totally unacceptable in considerate decent society and gives them the opportunity and agreement to spend each day ridiculing others and expressing resentment and cynicism.

Opportunism and lack of integrity and chewing up workers and spitting them out, taking advantage of people, luring people into cons to take their $, families suffering from extreme endeavours and all that is old human behaviour found in scientology is cliched. It aint special and it aint no big deal. Humans at their worst all do this kind of thing. And grinding about 24/7 in a like minded group is useful? It’s therapeutic? Not a chance IMO. It is the best possible way of staying stuck I can imagine. There is no interest or commitment to moving anything forward.

I can see from a mile away that scientology is a fail stuck in archaic thinking because it turned polices by a neurotic person with a dream of being more special than anyone else, into rigid scripture. Big deal. This community has turned it into a hobby. I do not recommend anyone touch scientology and I do recommend people who were involved moving on to greener pastures and if you were never involved moving on to greener pastures, and if you were harmed or mistreated by scientology pressing charges with local authorities. Joining a GROUP where one can celebrate hate and talk about an egregiously flawed group is a disastrous hobby IMO , almost as bad as being in that group. This is my last comment on this topic and on this blog.

I get the impression that you’re relatively new to the study of this cult, and it’s hard to overstate just how awful this group is, from top to bottom. This evil behavior goes back *decades*. There is a rich library of material about this cult, and I’d really urge you to read some of it; start with Tony’s book – it’s superbly written, and it will open your eyes.

Anyway, I understand why people have such strong feelings about it, but I believe that having a very good reason to hate somebody doesn’t give license to lose all sense of common decency.

Some who are attracted to protest culture are individuals who are looking for an occasion to express anger, hatred, hurt, and upset and issues and they really do not care what the cause is, just a place where they can blend in and hurt others. They are usually the ones who ruin peaceful protests and escalate things to riot.
