Exactly, and since no-one was going to correct LRH on anything, because he was “source,” and that included making suggestions or editing his text or galleys, and because $cientology owned the publishing firm, and hyped his books by having the clams buy them over and over at retail sources that were monitored for bestsellers, his shit sold.

IMO, it barely qualifies as toilet paper.

I think John Atack’s recent revelation that many of the ‘classic’ Scientology texts that followed “Dianetics” were ‘composed’ on a Dictaphone and farmed out to ghost writers was significant.

Hubbard was a routine pulp fiction writer, but had some skill. After “Dianetics” he seems to have given up on developing these (not to mention giving up on editors) and indulged instead in ‘stream of consciousness’ automatic writing.

This is what produced the 2.5 million words of “Mission Earth” – and what made those books so terrible. He had tried to return to writing after a 30-year period during which his skills (such as they were) had devolved due to self-indulgence – and nobody dared tell him this.

I agree with your assessment of BE. I also am of the opinion that it is close to the level of most of the rest of his writing: dreck.

I have been on a couple cruise ships. One was the Ruby Princess (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruby_Princess). The thing was a floating city with over 4,000 staff and passengers — and awesome food, entertainment, customer service, etc.

Hmm. I wonder how it is that wog ships can be so much bigger than Freewinds?

The 1st time I went to the Freewinds (the ONLY
time)….we drove up and I said “Wow, that’s really big” (Having never
been around cruise liners).
I hung with the taxi drivers all waiting outside for awhile.

They said: “Ohhhhhhhhhhh this is nuttin’. Wait until the BIG ships come in, mon”.
So I did.
Think of your desk you are at, couch, or even cell phone u are holding. That height is the Freewinds.
Now imagine a ship pulling up 5 times as tall: Up to the Ceiling…or 2nd or 3rd floor of a building.

The FW looked TINY compared to the *real* Cruise lines that pulled up.
