Good point. I have been reading this blog and the comments for a few days now. I was never in scientology, but I have an aversion for all cults and after reading a few books about Scientology I came to the conclusion this one is more evil than most and certainly among the most dangerous.

But one thing I have not found is Scientologists or many sympathizers trolling the comment section. Normally you’d have to beat them off with a stick if this was about anything else at all.

Where are the defenders? For a time I thought that maybe the comment section is moderated. Possible, but usually moderated comments tend to be disjointed with lots of [deleted] and arguments against posts that are no longer visible. I didn’t see that here.

Anyway, you guys are doing a good job. I am sorry that for many of you it was such a traumatic experience. I am hoping that one of these days the whole thing will come crashing down.

I also liked how Andres said that people go back to Scientology after being off lines for decades because they are “offended” by the bad reports about the church.

He says this after he refers to the fictitious man’s wife as his “wog wife”.

I get this. If I lived in a city with an org, the teenage prankster in me would be sorely tempted to go in and troll them. The only thing stopping me would be pity for the poor lonely schmucks sitting in the empty lobby (which is not a secondhand observation culled from the Bunker btw – I see this every time I walk past the St. Paul org on the way to the Fitzgerald Theater).

You knocked it out of the park, my friend. You said everything I have been trying to say in rambling posts over three or four years, and did it in a short, clearly thought-out and presented package.

I read Mr. Campbell’s work back in the 90s and watched a number of his video talks on the telly. Wonderful stuff. Fit right in with my own unending journey. Thanks for bringing it up to me again. As it happens, a new phase of my own journey, quite unexpected, has recently arisen. I recall one of Ron’s truisms which originally touched me: “Life is an adventure. Treat it as an adventure. And may you never be the same again.” I’ve since wondered from whom he stole it. 🙂 But it’s a line which suits me.

I’m glad that Richard Bach helped you in some way to find your way out and away from $cn. The “Hero’s Journey” is the sort of stuff that floats my boat.
