Sorry about the slow reply. I’m not worried about the requirement to pay to attend TED speeches, because one can see them online, and most people aren’t located close to where they’re presented.

In a way, it’s a way of having the wealthier pay for what we get to see free. It’s kind of a Robin Hood way of paying for the forums. Of course, if you’re poor, it does exclude you, but I would imagine that there are other ways to participate, such as volunteering, if you absolutely have to be there.

Meanwhile, we get to see the presentations free.

Pretty good so far. Just training this week so no stress yet. This new place has us doing things manually whereas my old job had very fancy tech to do many things for us. I like the fancy stuff. However, that may be why my new job can afford to pay me so much better bc they don’t sink all their money in automation and fancy bells n whistles. *sigh* I should of went into teaching, lol 🙂 I work in corporate travel btw. Making reservations etc. I use to do 1st level tech support which I liked a lot more.

Those bozos make their money by spreading fear an viewpointd conspiracy theories, then,like Hubbard, portraying themselves as the true source of truth.

Having lived in foreign countries,and having relatives and friends outside of the US, I find them to have a vast amount of jingoistic viewpoints that are only supported by the extremely convoluted, yet simplistic “facts” that are often interpretations of tea leaves.

IMO, their goal isn’t so much money, but power.
