MK I don’t remember if I replied to you? Disqus popped up this old discussion. Re Twain’s Letters (by Satan to Gabriel and Michael): I found my copy in our town library in ’68, think it was published in ’62? I re-checked it out twice. It really blew me away … I had already read about other religions but I was unprepared for The Letters. I had never heard anyone speak about the the bible’s old testament and the Christian god like that. I felt like my whole Baptist family was reading over my shoulder and I didn’t want them to know what I was up to! I started to look at everyone differently. It was so powerful it was scary to me. I mean it’s absolutely scathing and you can’t hide from or deny the obvious idiocies of belief that he points out. Like you, the Letters led me along a path to read and discover the real story behind the stories we are told.

The beloved Sir ( not a real title ) Benny Hill is one of England’s finest sons .I recommend all of his work .

I remember one night in about 1983 at about 12 years old catching a Benny Hill rerun at 11;30 PM and catching a two second clip of a topless woman in a window the American censors had missed .
I watched avidly for decades hoping to see more .Alas , it was not to be .I did grow to love Benny and his hijinks.
