Mr Beatty you have an interesting way of expressing your views to me .If you don’t mind me saying so , what you say comes across as down to earth and in easily understood terms but also like you have both a comprehensive perspective and detailed specific ideas that come across as well thought through .

Do you have a blog or book where you express yourself ? Or any online posts that you have written that you recommend for anyone who is curious as to what your overall ideas and conclusions are regarding Scientology and the ex Scientology experience ? I would like to add them to my studies if you do not mind .

Well, you can’t please everyone all the time, and so just do what you think best, and let history judge your efforts, if you come up with some unique winning new combo book tailor made to the public you feel need it most.

But as you laid out, some won’t bite your suggestions anyways, “know-best” or fixed set in ideas that suit them, and they might be right, even with all your good observations and so forth, you still might be missing something that suits them, in their own unique lack of verbal skills to even see and frame in words their views.

Hubbard was a crank. End of story, for me. There never was any Xenu, nor 4th dynamic engram, nor any of the other whole track Marcabian adventure engrams and implanting either. It’s bogus sci fi wishful imagination, and placebo, no OT super souled Scientologists with any ESP, but that’s because no humans possess ESP.

Crank. Roy Wallis in “The Road to Total Freedom” mentions some get out of Scientology and then move on to other fringe practices and beliefs.

So, why do people go on buying fringe crank stuff? They were crank prone and until they become un crank prone, they will slither out of Scientology and land in some other crank stuff.

Though one wonders at the faith Sweeney put in the BBC to protect him from those people. TOuching, really!

I understand what you are saying but I have found academics have found Scientology is perhaps uniquely self reinforcing . Many exes I encounter even decades after their departure are still using the fallacies and behaviors Hubbard implanted . Along with the phobias and sometimes narcissism and arrogant projection .
I feel that a significant number reach a kind of partially recovered stage often with no further efforts at education but a perpetual J&D that can be…frankly lacking in benefit .

To go to thread after thread and see the exact same individuals asking the exact same questions in frustration for decades , and when anyone points out the answer may be in Eric Hoffer’s True Believer or Leon Festinger’s a Theory on Cognitive Dissonance or When Prophecy Fails or Steven Hassan’s Freedom of Mind or in Daniel Shaw’s Traumatic Narcissism or basic material on hypnotism or rhetoric or sociopaths or narcissists or social psychology or cultic studies and the same people refuse to study any of it but lament the same basic cult related issues over and over . Frankly some read a book or two or a few online articles then feel “there cannot be any more to learn” and never progress .

I feel for many time alone will not fully heal them , certainly not quickly .Margaret Singer , who I feel was one if the top cult experts EVER has often emphasized the great importance of learning what mind control is and how it was used upon you if you are an ex cult member seeking recovery . I tend to agree .
