I’m fine. Sorry to hear you have been so consumed with family issues at the same time as work so essential to you and your students. Illnesses and hospitals are a couple of my least favorite things. But I’m sure your Mother appreciates the help. I have no idea what that podcast is you mentioned but I do recall that crime and criminals are much the nature of your work. A subject that is a facet of all human history. Most of my education was in the arts. I never finished college. ( I joined a Cult ) and found other talents to support myself and my family. But my hobby is human nature. So your work must be fascinating. I’m glad to hear you are fine and great to have you around again. 🙂

Hope your cutting down is going well. I had a brutal past few weeks, mainly because on top of finals and papers, my mom’s fiancé has had numerous emergency health problems. No one in his family ever seems to help out, leaving my mom to deal with everything alone. Which means I’m the only one helping her. It’s very frustrating. Sigh. But everything seems to be settling down now.

I have to admit, too, that while hanging out in hospital waiting rooms, I got hooked on the “Serial” podcast. Crime has a strong pull for me (obviously).

Anyway, barring more serious health emergencies for my mom or her fiancé, I’m around again. 🙂

Thanks Stacy. No big deal. I’ve never went more that the prescribed amount and I have been using them long enough that they are not nearly as effective. So it either go up or down. I’m cutting down over the next few months. Take care of those students and drop by when you can.

Good luck with that. That’s a very difficult thing you’re undertaking. I’m thinking it’s probably going to be more than just uncomfortable. Let me know how you’re doing. I’ll offer encouragement or anything else that will help you get through this.
(Since it’s been a week since your reply- I’m down to the last few weeks of the semester, and I assigned papers to all my classes, so I’m swamped in grading- I hope the weaning process is going as well as it can. Hang in there Cosmo.)

Shelly, I’m so sorry to hear about your father. I am glad that you and your family were able to be there at the end though. It’s a horrible thing to have to live with forever after, not being able to be there. We all managed to be there with my dad when he died too, and I’m so thankful no one has to have that regret, even my psychopathic sister. Let me know if there’s anything I can do for you.
The next two weeks are going to be insane- it’s the end of the semester. I’ll probably only get to pop in occasionally, like I did this past week. After that, I’ll have more time. Yay!
