B And approval by the Vatican was purely political– it does not mean that any of those fascists were religious (they weren’t).

Do you think it might hurt a person’s feelings to ask “Are you for real?” Or would you think that that person needs to have thicker skin if they complained about their hurt feelings in a rational argument about critical reading/thinking? My preference is to read as accurately as possible, and do my best to hold my attributions and assumptions about a writer’s intent in check. It is quite difficulty to hold our pre-conceived confirmation biases in check, especially when they are emotionally-charged and a priori-primed. Sometimes I fail.
With the exception of your attribution of his motivations and intention, I don’t disagree with you Derek.

THANK YOU! I love this post! Very informative and helpful! I was posting a lot when the raid at GA NarCONon occurred and was very displeased that the criminal charges were not brought fourth. I believe that a Faustian deal was brokered between Co$ lawyers and the DA (maybe even UnitedHealth as they were the victim of the $3mil in fraud). NarCONon’s licensing was yanked and they had to pay back the $3mil, that was it, to my knowledge.
I recently discussed this very same case while talking to an A&D counselor. She was appaulled at just this little bit and the whole time I didn’t say what rehab this was. When I told her it was a NarCONon she said that it was the one connected to $cientology? I told her it was and began talking about the deaths at Arrowhead and the “treatment” offered. She couldn’t believe it. I told her, yes, this is all true and said to google, “the underground bunker” and “reachingforthetippingpoint.net” and see for herself. Today she thanked me for the links.
