Okay, interesting point on FBI vs DHS. I had heard the FBI first had funds restricted by Bush admin, then directed away from white American terrorists by Congress. I’ll let you know if I ever find specific FBI proof. Honestly, I had read so many examples I really didn’t think it was subject to question. You are correct to ask me to back up any assertion that doesn’t sit right.

Thanks. I had heard of course that the GOP wanted Homeland Security to back off hassling Godfearing Murkins, but did not know they had caved so much. But this is about DHS, not the FBI which the article notes is the primary agency that actually does the investigating, without producing glossy reports. DHS is Bush’s boondoggle, a redundant money-pit that mostly just duplicates what other agencies were doing.

The article clears up for me what a “focus center” is, a group of analysts that collate information from multiple sources. I have seen the term in freerepublic paranoiac rants, where it is the place that Big Brother puts together satellite surveillance of your every step with NSA intercepts of your every communication.
