When you’ve had enough lies and abuse, there are many support groups to help you recover from the abuses of the cult. Maybe you’ve never experienced thr RPF, or been sickened by the purification run down, or been disconnected from your loved ones…but one day you will be. And you will need to escape.

Folks who managed to extricate themselves from a destructive cult ought not now be guilted and bullied by the likes of Skip Press into joining his anti-cult cult. Free people can make their own choices based on their own reasons best known to themselves, and not understood by Mr. Press, self-appointed commodore of his anti-cult.

I am not referring to this publication which has been fantastic help to those recovering from scientology and the sea org, please do not misunderstand; I am referring ONLY to such comments as Mr. Press is making in trying to guilt people into harming themselves and their families through exposure they do not wish to do, effectively doing again to them what they were unwitting victims of decades ago!

Advice to Press, who thinks he knows best and can make such dictates, and thinks he is “bright” enough to discuss how “bright” others are (ref. above comment on the ‘Gillham girls’) do your own thing and permit free people to go about living their own free lives as they see fit.

I quite agree; There is much truth in what he said.

His response to me needlessly perosonalized the issue, however, and I stand by my statement that these people have yet to make any ‘great public contribution’ that I have heard of, certainly nothing on the order of magnitude of their decades of deceit and service to a malignant organization. Publishing books explaining how to continue following HUbabrd, or lionizing their sefice as being a ‘warrior’ do not count.

Part of positioningoneself as a public figure is the repsoinsibility to answer for ones actions and statements. IF it was incorrect, it is not enough to change ones mind and apologize in private whilst cashing cheques from the sales of books full of repeated piison and lies (however well-intentioned).

It is not too late. I do believe Marty is on the right track. No, I’m not perfect– But then I haven’t pulblished books tlelingpeole how to bcome perfect and expalinging how ROn Hubbard was, nor was I the enforcer for such an organiation?. As such, my repsonsibilities are different.
