Snobs has moved to Smallbrook Queensway, just down the road from the Sunflower Lounge and the entrance to the Bull RIng underground car park entrance. I think it will be a while before I can get to visit.

I will be heading to Brum city centre at some point for obligatory christmas shopping so I will try and take some snaps for you, no doubt it will have changed in some ways from what you remember.

Simon was my auditor for about a year when I was going “full time up the bridge” and Claire was training to become an auditor at Flag. They are both really nice, lovely people. I heard they had a child (I love that she has Simon’s eyes) and I wonder what impact that had on them as staff members/Scientologists. Did one or both of them need to leave staff in order to get a “wog” job? Simon was already “moonlighting” – had a part time job outside of Scientology staff. Was Claire under intense pressure from Scientology and made to stay on post? Did she get any maternity leave?

Katie, a really good friend of mine – prior to disconnection, got pregnant a few months before her staff contract at Birmingham Org was up. She was sent to ethics and interrogated on the meter. She was asked if she got pregnant willingly/knowingly and whether she was trying to leave staff early and was her intention to try to pull her husband off staff too. The management and staff treated her badly and she couldn’t handle the pressure….She had a miscarriage.

A few months later, once her contract was up, she got pregnant again but was terrified of miscarrying this one too. She was told by the then ED, Susan Story that if she left staff all of her dynamics (all areas of her life) would fail and she would be miserable. She confided in me that all she wanted to do was be a mother, to look after her 8 year old, Amy and the new baby in her belly. She was scared that the ED was right. I reassured her that she was doing the right thing and her dynamics would NOT fail. She remained off staff and gave birth to my second God daughter, Kirsten. I noticed a few years ago that she had a little boy too.

I just hope Claire Chisholm didn’t have to go through this type of crap to have her daughter and I absolutely love it when Scientologists have babies. It’s forces them to have a foot in the door of the “wog world” and they are therefore one step closer to leaving.

Fun Fact: This picture was taken in the Birmingham Org reception area. The Chisholms are standing in front of a bespoke bookcase which is a set that my mother employed a local carpenter to make for the Org.
