OK a watch was the first and obviously bad, example I thought of and wasn't meant to be an exactly translatable argument, sorry. The Flag Land Base is not a guy on a corner with a overcoat selling watches. It;s kind of a high end jewelry store selling fakes....... Anyway that's why sometimes exes are thought of by never ins as fools. Maybe so there.... How could any rational person fall into this?.......That is why this particular cult is so insidious. It on the surface is nothing more that logic......until the crazy starts.

Thanks. I've resorted to flea collars too, but just the run of the mill ones. I'll look for this brand.

Apologies to the Bunkerites for getting so off-topic.

That's a great question April and I'll try to answer. First off it was relatively inexpensive in the 70's...$25.00 for the HAS or Communication course. and I believe $180.00 for the HQS or Hubbard Qualified Scientologist Course and I think $500.00 for the course to learn to be a Dianetic Auditor. But believe me I thought the $500.00 out of my range. No one is recruited by being told come on in this is going to cost you $500,000.00. It's all gradual. Secondly yes what an inefficient way to save the planet. First off Scientologists believe that the SP's are on a day and night mission to destroy them. Think this....With all the things that the FBI, the CIA, and Interpol have going on. Their top mission is to destroy Scientology because we will break the grip of the Psychiatrists, Pharmaceutical Companies and a small cabal of evil politicians and bankers are using to control you and me. It takes money to survive against such powerful enemies. and you April can help save us all..Conspiracy Theories.......But it starts with a communication course which in and of itself quite interesting and beneficial to many as long as you don.t know what it is leading to. You see this is already becoming a long answer and I could make a short story trying to take you inside Scientology thinking... but .In short LRH figured a way out of a maze that was created to trap us....Yeah I know....most people don't fall for this. But myself I was already on a personal quest to understand the universe and life through study of alternate religions and LSD inspired astral travel.....Back to your question of money and I answer this now as an ex.... If I had a watch that said Rolex on it and I sold it to you for $10.00 you would think it was either fake or stolen. If somehow you thought it might be real you would take to a jeweler to see if it was. If I sold you that watch for $10,000.00. You would show all your friends your new Rolex and would resist any idea that it might be fake. {it is}.

There is also this. With each level you gain new abilities that will help you make more money and up to the next. Also some weird idea that if enough OT's are in an area that area gets better. It doesn't.

The people at the church you went to certainly don.t have much money so it must be going for a good cause..I mean they believe it.

There is also the idea of exchange. If Scientology is given to you it won't work correctly....Remember the Rolex watch.

Did all that rambling help? You were a smart girl to stay away.
