I believe Mareka is correct in stating that Flag Order 3905 was issued in 1986. I do not have a copy of this FO, but even if Mareka hadn’t given a 1986 date, I would say that based upon the fact that Flag Order 3879 was authored in January 1986, it stands to reason that FO 3905 was issued after. Based upon information in my files, the issue date of FO 3905 is 28 September 1986. There is also Mary Tabayoyon’s 26 August 1994 Affidavit which was filed in US District Court, Central District of California, in Church of Scientology International v. Steven Fishman and Uwe Geertz, Ph. D. [Case No. Cv 91 6426 HLH (Tx)]. It says, in part:

“BEGINNING IN 1986, MEMBERS OF THE SEA ORG WERE FORBIDDEN TO HAVE ANY MORE CHILDREN IF THEY WERE TO STAY ON POST AND THE HUBBARD TECHNOLOGY WAS APPLIED TO COERCIVELY PERSUADE US TO HAVE ABORTIONS SO THAT WE COULD REMAIN ON POST.

“7. On September 28, 1986, Gillaume Leserve, the Executive Director International (“ED Int”), put out an order binding on all Sea Org members. Within the Sea Org, these binding orders were called Flag Orders. The September 28, 1986 Flag Order No. 3905 forbade Sea Org members from having any more new children. The reason given by ED Int. was that the Sea Org simply did not have the time, money and resources to raise children properly. In the event Sea Org members elected to disobey this Flag Order, they would be exiled to a non Sea Org Scientology organization of the Class IV level until the Child reached 6 years of age. Once the unauthorized child achieved 6 years of age, the parents could return to the Sea Org.

“8. On April 3, 1991, an addition to this Flag Order was issued. Part of that supplement provided that anyone who did get pregnant would be sent to a non-expanding Class IV Org. The Commanding Officer of CMOI, Marc Yager, endorsed application of this supplement to all crew at the base and added to it. It stressed that Sea Org members were the top echelon of the Sea Org. As such Yager admonished us that we had the responsibility on our shoulders for the expansion of Scientology and freeing mankind. Scientology’s Senior management determined, we, at this high level, could not afford the time and resources it would take to raise children. Having children was found to undermine our production and our purpose. It became an Ethics matter. An Ethics matter is an offense against Scientology. An ethics matter arises when a Scientologist does something which detracts from the spreading of Scientology. Ethics matters are dealt with through Scientology rituals administered to those who have “wandered off the straight and narrow”. (See definition of “out ethics”, attached as Exhibit 1).”

My comment never posted 🙁 I reviewed the book by Canetti. Yes, anything that shows the truth of how exactly something like this could happen and some guys that got in were very smart. Me I was only smart about weather, hunting and fishing. But common denominator seems to be we all wanted to help others. Maybe a few off the street only had thoughts for them selves but they didn’t last long. I look forward to reading your book someday.

Yes Skip, lets get down to the truth. After 4 years out I am now back to the beginnings in a quest to wrap my wits around how a naïve Alaska gal raised in the wood, married into the drug culture 70-74, was introduced to sci & then managed to spend the next 35 years in complete and utter dedication to the goals of scientology and the sea org with out leaving much sooner…. I knew in 82/3 something was very wrong. I did not leave until 2010 – 38 years later.
One clue is – they kept me so god damn busy 🙂
I checked out the book by Canetti. I’m glad Skip that you read it. As long as you are going in the direction of truth I’m watching. It only takes the truth to dissolve the pain this church has caused others. I found a 1991 issue that shows at that time there were already 2,164 Declared SPs and 2,481 persons expelled from the COS. I don’t know the difference there so that’s 4,645 in only 1991. I’m attaching a copy for you. These persons all need to hear the truth. I know by personal experience that many of them have died and been beaten down by invalidation usually done to them self’s by the indoctrination they learned in COS. Not a good hope for mankind. I look forward to your book.
