The 'strategic alliance' has been reported here and at Rinders blog and elsewhere. Now you can be regged at many locations. <i>"if a commenter didn't have an answer, they shouldn't reply to the comment at all."</i> Sure, that's why I don't post a lot of comments.

But you're confusing that with a situation that arises frequently with Scientology: there IS an answer, and the correct explanation <b>is</b> that THERE IS NO ANSWER because you're trying to apply logic where there is none.

There are lines of inquiry from which nothing can be learned and which conceal no greater depths; at best we can try to guess the recipe of the chemical infusion that burbled through L. Ron Hubbard's synapses on the particular day, or play Pin the DSM IV Diagnosis on the Horse's Ass, or marvel over how anyone could be taken in by such low-grade folderol. When several people clue you in that a trail leads nowhere, they're not doing it to annoy.

<i>"You must be new at this human thing."</i> By the time I get the knack, my turn will be over.

It's a conundrum, to attempt to make income off of a crank's legacy, even if one is picking Hubbard's crankness to pieces!

I think it best to help pro writers and journalists, who are good writers, at the ethical way to record Scientology and Hubbard.

Let the pro wordsmiths have access to Hubbard's load of crap and all the ex member stories, and just show the whole spiel.

But Martin Gardner's take on Hubbard, in "Fads and Fallacies", puts Hubbard in his place best for me.

Crank. Delusional galactic science fiction inspired past lives therapy/exorcism.

Jon Atack's book title, "...Blue Sky..." and Arthur C. Clarke's caught off guard comments, and Martin Gardner's book, are the short story that won't ever change about L. Ron Hubbard.

Martin Gardner's "Fads and Fallacies" puts Hubbard in context with other cranks which Gardner gives chapters to, in this must read book.

Hubbard was a crank, displayed all the crank characteristics, and Gardner's points are still valid, which your quotes selected from Hubbard support.

There ought to be a "Crank Pseudo-Science Repair List" as a joke to assess on ex Scientologists, to relieve them of the charge that this galactic crank L. Ron Hubbard caused them!

sounds like a muddled watered down thing he thought that is like his Affirmations, at least those were crystal clear hypnotic commands.

This quote is muddled gobblygook, obviously he was high on drugs like his son Nibs (L. Ron Junior) said that LRH was so often back in the days Nibs saw Ron take drugs!

Someone ought to go through all those lectures that Hubbard was likely on drugs, as that would be important explanatory info to add to why so much of what he said is not worth wasting time trying to figure out, but realize he was out of it and making it up at that moment, high on some drugs!

Yes. I loved trenching, and did all sorts of the difficult trenching around other pipes, one trench completely under a road, actually I loved the harder gravel and dirt road trenching even, which is the most brutal, trenching.

I was a half way decent manual worker, and enjoyed all the grunt work and doing things in primitive style, I called it to myself "Third World Engineering" and always found something absurdly fun about it all! (If you are familiar with Natan Sharansky, a USSR "refusnik" who outwitted the KGB prisoner life that was enforced on him, the Sea Org RPF is not even close to real oppression, I knew this as I lived the whole 7 years in total I spent on the RPF, so it was really just a joke rather than punishment, to me.)
