I don’t remember the address of the old cult office but it was a converted Funeral Home on Avenue Rd. near Davenport. Plato’s Restaurant was across the road. It was half way between Yorkville and the Krishna temple further along.

I went into the building for the first time in 1970 and began courses soon after. A friend joined staff about the same time. Later on he told me that everyone that was there before him had left, so I conclude the same thing. I could be wrong, but my friend is very careful with his claims and his words.

Brian Levman was the president then and he, of course, was found to be a suppressive. (What a sneak! He filled the org with customers just to fool the higher ups!) I was sent to the ethics office at one point. Earl Smith was there, whom I understand later became the church president. I hear that he is still there! It serves him right. I got my revenge without even entering the building.

Smith and a two others were in a Globe and Mail article years ago, perhaps a dozen years ago, where they were described as veterans. They claimed, in the article, 100,000 members in Canada. In the accompanying photo the three of them looked more like badly aging members of a fringe cult than people with control knowingly and at will over MEST.

Last time I darkened their doors was about 35 years ago. I wanted to put an ad up on their bulletin board to sell my L.Ron Hubbard books. I told them on the phone that it would be good for them because it would disseminate Scientology, good for me because I would make money and good for a Scientologist because the buyer would get a bargain on the books. They told me to come on down. I lived and worked out of town at the time. I drove in after work which even then was no picnic. I parked downtown. The skunk that I made the appointment with told me that I could not sell my books through them and that I should complete the service I blew from. I told him, in no uncertain terms, that I had never spoken ill of the church of Scientology but now all that would change because he had deceived me and wasted my time.

What goes on in there is a mystery to me. I don’t mean the courses and auditing, I mean the financial situation, the power structure and the membership. I know no one on the inside nor anyone recently blown. I have not even seen their new location. I never looked for fights when walking past their Yonge Street location, though I protested in front of it many times. If a Scientologist engaged me in discussion while I walked by I would ask him our for a donut and coffee, my treat, to really discuss the matter. No one ever took me up on this.

I think that most of the Toronto people are old timers, and their kids. I saw a list of OTC members about a year ago and it consisted of all the old 124 Avenue Rd guys (even a few from 116) and some of their kids. There are a few newbies but I don’t think too many. You must have been around pretty early (pre-116?).

Hopefully I’m really, really wrong, but I have the feeling mustravage’s paranoia is increasing and he will become dumber, more deluded and damn well *More Dangerous*. He’s proved on numerous occasions that he No Respect for the sanctity of human life and if he has to go, he’ll take as many with him as possible. Like I said, I hope I’m really, really wrong on this one. Fortunately I’ve been wrong so many times before, lets hope this is another ‘wrongun’.

I’m a never in but from all the research there is no such thing as “Clear”!!!! Blubbard even tried to prove his lies in public and the person chosen to be his living proof of his bullshit scam about being “Clear”, failed miserably in public. Your years of excellent journalism summarizing comments like this one, ought be put together, I really appreciate when journalists explain things and characterize things like your phrase “dangerously wrong notions about drugs”!

In Scientology “Listing and Nulling” (pseudo crank therapy sub method used at Grade 3 of the lower grades most extensively), the “correct item” is the correct labeling or selecting of some single object/thing that most enlightens the patient/parishioner.

What I’ve always loved about your years of writing on Scientology is your wording, your “correct item” and Scientology also has a phrase called”correct indication” (meaning correct phrasing that satisfactorily relieves in the mind of the listener some situation they might be mentally embroiled in).

Your writing is chock full of “correct items” and “correct indications!”
