Just to clarify – I don’t think she thought she was going, but somehow she managed to express her love and appreciation for life, her precious girls, and her special friends in those last two posts (pages 214 and 215 for those interested in reading again) – and left a wonderful testament to illustrate the loving person she was. I actually will pass these on Shamwari. It would really have touched Denise to know that she had moved a complete stranger like that. It’s hard to let go of her thread. I keep wanting to post on it or share something on her Facebook page. I know she did have more posts planned, that she talked about making but somehow never made. So maybe there was a reason for that. I honestly don’t think she thought she would go when she did, because then she would definitely have asked me to come up and stay when I first offered. And we did have plans. I was going to go there for Christmas again and we were going to bake whoopie pies. But she always knew she was living on borrowed time. She did just always want five more minutes, though. Anyway, thank you. The kindness of so many is helping me through a lot, as I’m sure it is for Kim and so many other people who loved her dearly. I had a hug from a beautiful girl outside my classroom yesterday, who had so many problems of her own. But I was crying and she held me. Beautiful strangers make the world go around! Hi there – I am not a regular poster but an avid reader… and I spent the last few days reading Denise’s ESMB thread. Whilst I didn’t fully read every post, and knew nothing about Denise, I was so moved by her, and your friendship… and am still heartsore at her passing. It was easy, in retrospect, to see this – but I was amazed at her last two posts in May… they seemed like something of a farewell… and very special, especially with photos of her daughter and granddaughter. Please express my condolences to them – and to you too. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Davey will be breathing a sigh of relief that she won’t be testifying at his trial. But thankfully, she left a long legacy of testimony against him. Tick tock Davey.
