To me, this isn’t the “saddest” Scientology promo video ever, it is the most haunting, disturbing, depressing promo video ever (or perhaps “yet” – this might not be the last [SHUDDER]).

The stuff of nightmares.

And I have a high tolerance for “disturbing,” having watched films from the likes of David Lynch and others without having a single nightmare afterward.

We’ll have to see what happens when I sleep tonight, but I’ve already suffered through a “daymare” over this “promo” video.

On the “Votapka Family, Long Island’s Newest Alumni” “slide”: Is the young gentleman in the upper left demonstrating a “Scientology Smile”?

He looks about as happy as someone who has lost everything (but his clothes). I think a welfare check might be in order.

And I’m pro-Second Amendment, but what’s with the old guy in colonial garb aiming a musket inside a room full of people – and the woman on the right so frightened, it would seem, that her facial expression looks like she’s riding a super roller coaster?

Everything – EVERYTHING – about this video seems aimed at being disturbing, depressing and downright haunting. (If that was their aim, mission accomplished!)

The morose lighting of _every_ shot. Every song, every sound effect – depressing, and again, _haunting_.

And the fast motion footage (almost all of it)? The hopping bearded man in the wizard hat?! Frightening! Rumpelstiltskin?

I had to force myself to hear the whimsical “Benny Hill fast motion music” in my mind just in order to survive watching it!

After the promo video (mercifully) ended, I was definitely left “freewheeling.” I felt like hurling myself through a window (lucky for me I was on the ground floor at the time) and “dropping my body” like I’d read Excalibur or read about the Wall of Fire in OT III before I was “ready.” [COUGH!]

People were shown playing practically every “party game” except for Musical Chairs. Hmmmmmm…

This promo video has the feel of something created on another PLANET (which is probably fine with members of the CoS) in another gaLAXy. (LRH pronounced galaxy as ga-LAX-y, so you must, too. Mustn’t change the tech!)

Forget West Coast/East Coast – this video seemed like it was from teegeeack!

And while we’re on the subject of not changing the tech; when writing, always – ALWAYS – use a manual typewriter and rolls of butcher’s paper.

Lastly, does anyone know how to inject _frozen_ alcohol into a lung from a syringe – or even a turkey baster or cake frosting gun?

I’ve got a particularly pesky and pernicious Body Thetan I’m trying to freeze so he can’t exteriorize. (Man! That’s _all_ I need right now!)

P.S. In the promo video, one “slide” has the word “that’s” spelled “thats” about 00:35 in. Please understand that this is not a mistake, this is _correct_ in “Scientologese.” (Mustn’t alter the tech!)

Yes, the certainly did. But he was still in a video, being shown in all Orgs, to get morale up. They also got him to replace his longterm manager (who kept reporters from asking him about Scientology) with his Scilon sis who encouraged it. He became THE top-line Scientologist in the world, (with the award and Miscavige-buddy status to prove it) than when he started taking hits, it was at first blamed on anything but Scientology, but no it is starting to sink in; He ended up looking awful, both in and out of the church (‘most dedicated Scientologist? Really? How may people did HE disconnect from?)

That’s what I meant. I see the nuance with your point, but feel it makes no real difference.

Hubbard started his movement saying that Reason was the highest virtue yet Scientology utterly destroys it. These mindless fundraising events using positive emotion and delusion of success is all that Scientology could deliver in the end.

Sorry, J, I wrote about the ‘Eye of the Tiger’ thing before I got to your post. I should read further before I post, but the Rocky thing just pissed me off.
