Never in my life have I made that remark to a woman, nor do I desire to. I don’t need you or any other woman (or man) to DICTATE to me, not only how to treat a lady, but how to interpret my own life experiences???

Thank you for your explanation, Joe, but I think it’s okay to let it drop now 🙂 From a woman to a man, let me set the facts out for you so there are no further misunderstandings: the comment about the singer’s lips being ‘perfect for a blow job’ and the supposition on your friend’s part that it was apparent ‘she took it as a complement’ are without question highly inappropriate and offensive, and any other woman on planet earth would tell you the same.

I wasn’t there, I don’t know the manner in which this lady took what was said to her, but the relating of the anecdote here at the Bunker was inappropriate. Many of us have done the same; during my first week here I said something which offended people and I was picked up on it immediately by several people, as you were. I was embarrassed, I apologised (and meant it) and I made sure I didn’t make the same mistake again, and that was the end of it. Nobody held any grudges against me and we all moved on. Simples 🙂

OK, iBetty, let me try to spell it out for you!

It was almost thirty year ago. The keyboard player and the lady singer were from another country. They spoke a language I did not understand. The guy, laughing, said something . . . the lady singer slapped his hand, but she looked like she was energized . . . all I saw was her body language . . . she looked like she was proud of herself and her sexuality. And I was wondering what was said!

Later, it was explained to me that this jerk, this wise-ass told her “You look very nice tonight, especially your mouth, which looks perfect for blow job!” And that “deep in her heart, you could see she took it as a compliment!”

iBetty, this woman was just like any other. BUT . . . when she went to work, when she got onstage, it was a different story. There was an element of sexuality in the way she liked to express herself as a professional singer. She shared herself with the audience.That’s different than working in an office or a fast-food restaurant.

I know you are offended by this story. Be offended at the language – that’s understandable. But don’t misjudge people or make false accusations based on ideology. You seem to ‘categorize’ certain things in a very rigid and inflexible way. Is that intelligent? No, iBetty, not if it prevents you from seeing the essence of a thing or situation. And it certainly isn’t liberal, either – it’s totalitarianism that’s strict and deterministic, not liberalism.

You said you “don’t think it’s funny the way [this] woman was treated.” You weren’t there. You don’t know this woman, and you don’t know ‘how she was treated,’ either. If you talked to her about this incident, she would laugh, even if you are unable to.

I told an weird story, but I didn’t expect to be so wildly misunderstood. I certainly didn’t expect a severe reprimand, let alone from someone like you.

iBetty, to me personally, all human beings are in some way fascinating. And sexual favors have nothing to do with it.

Jeff is an indie. It wouldn’t hurt him to learn a thing or two about how the human mind actually works. To a scientologist, Robin Williams seems “uptone.” But there’s more to the mind than the “tone scale.” The tone scale is one-dimensional (up and down) – it’s a misperception. Emotions are more complex than that.

I was a scientologist once. I thought like a scientologist. But, the more I read about the brain and modern neuroscience, the more I left scientology behind.

Jeff is a big boy now. He shaves and everything. I think he can handle it if I challenge him to RE-examine the way he thinks about depression.

The sort of ‘nice’ person who twice told a woman to fuck off yesterday? The sort of ‘nice’ person who scrolls through weeks worth of a person’s Disqus comments to locate the one other comment they made which you didn’t like just so you can call them crazy?

You seem to have a problem with me, and that’s a real shame because I like to get on with everyone, but I’m not to blame for the way you feel about me. If I’ve offended you in some way I apologise sincerely, but I don’t apologise for picking you up on the comment you made about the lead singer (above), or objecting to you willfully misunderstanding and leaping on a good man’s back yesterday.

I hope we can get along from now on 🙂

I can’t speak for the woman being bullbaited…

I am not a misogynist. I don’t think the keyboard player either. He was generally very polite and had a girlfriend who was a cool woman. Yes, he told the singer her mouth looked “good for a blow job.” And yes, it was horribly vulgar, and I was shocked that he would say that. But I was also a bit surprised with the woman singer. She was a strong woman who didn’t take any shit. But when she chastised him, she did so with a wink and a smile.

It was mostly men that came in this club we were performing in, and so I figured a), she wanted to look hot, and b), the two of them were close enough that they could joke around like that.

There are all kinds of people in this world. Just because something sounds counterintuitive doesn’t mean it’s not true.

It is even hard to explain it to yourself when you have seen it up close. Hubbard always masked the operations he was pulling on his followers by telling them it was not “hypnosis”, not “manipulation.” I couldn’t determine it WAS hypnosis because I had the idea already set in me (by Hubbard) that it was NOT hypnosis. So the cruelty was masked, hidden behind “good intentions.” I couldn’t determine that Hubbard was the SP, because it was a mandatory assumption that he couldn’t be the SP if HE was the one who told us what an SP WAS! Yet there he is. If you don’t have the blinders on, he stands out as the SP.

Hubbard was always about control and domination and using people. I think his documented life history demonstrates he had all the characteristics of the sociopath/anti social personality disorder.

The Hubbard written “Affirmations” (sometimes called the “Admissions”) as read into the court record during Gerry Armstrong’s defense of the lawsuit brought by Scientology, show that Hubbard was intent on removing any last vestige of conscience or empathy from himself. He wanted no barriers to free and unfettered use of his ‘will” in the A. Crowley / occult meaning.

He was trying to make himself into an even more perfect sociopath to whom everyone else was a pawn or barter.

I think that was behind his study and mastery of hypnosis. He wanted to make people jump at his command.

A book I acquired recently is a 1980 reprint of the 1902 book “The Law of Suggestion” by Santanelli. (J. H. Loryea.)

I have to tell you it lays out hypnosis exactly along the lines of everything I have read by Hubbard in his lectures and writing. It actually sounds like Hubbard, meaning, Hubbard probably used this book specifically as his model. This book is available on Google Books and also as a .pdf.

It’s so true! When I got booted out of Flag for being a “security risk” (their auditing made me feel depressed) I spent over 14 hours on a freaking routing form. They couldn’t just let me leave. Oh noooooooo. I had to go on a “PC is fkd up and we fear another Lisa McPherson incident” routing form before they would even allow me to be kicked out!! It was so humiliating going from “terminal” to “terminal” and having to introduce myself and hand them my form and explain that I have “bad thoughts” and would they please initial the appropriate box.
