I’m not sure where you were going with this, but it’s simply not that big a deal. That’s what I was trying to say.

There’s been one instance, that I know of, and which Tony covered where a Scientologist engaged in religious discrimination and had to pay a settlement to a former employee and that was some dentist in Florida. It was because he tried to get her to go to WISE classes and fired her when she wouldn’t. The only reason he got sued is because he is an idiot.

Most Scientologists would be a lot more careful than that (or should I say insidious). You just aren’t going to see a slew of lawsuits against Scientologists for LGBT discrimination. It’s not like they are going to put a sign out that says “NO GAYS ALLOWED”.

All Scientologists act like Laura Prepon and lie in the face of questions before going to the back room and discussing among themselves how the bible was right about stoning gays to death and if only it was legal.

Derek, different rules apply when doing business with the federal government, if WISE has any companies that do business with the federal government, or do business as a subcontractor to a federal government contractor, there will soon be a flat prohibition against LBGT discrimination, no matter how small the business.

EarthLink is a federal contractor, you can bet no matter what “shore story” the owners/church members give the church, it won’t dare discriminate against LBGT individuals when the new rules are issued. It could lose too much money. And, a federal contractor cannot refuse to hire non-church members. (Narconon Spring Hill is also a federal contractor.)

I’m not going to push it right now because she’s got a lot going on, but eventually I’ll ask her about it.

If I didn’t change her mind, at least I’ve got her thinking.

Unfortunately, there are some Republican candidates who share that view. I can’t vote against them because I don’t live in their district, but they’re being exposed by the media.

I think Scientology is a personality cult disguised as a religious cult.
