Kerri maybe a $cientologist but this case had nothing to do with $cientology. This was a family issue and it didn’t just involve Kerri Kasem. It also involved her two siblings, her mother and her uncle, Casey’s brother. It also involved many of Casey Kasem’s friends in the industry. Everyone was APPALLED at Jean Kasem’s behavior and her treatment of Casey Kasem.

Casey’s will was clear….he did not want to be buried in Norway. He had never even been there and neither had Jean. Casey wanted to be buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, where many of his contemporaries are buried. Kerri and her siblings acknowledged that they were disinherited. It wasn’t about the money….it was about her father.

Kerri is not the first celebrity kid to go through this with a second spouse. There are MANY kids of celebs who have had to go through this. Peter Falk’s kids, Conway Twitty’s kids (that was REALLY ugly!), Tammy Wynette’s kids…..there is a very long line of celebrity kids who have gone through this kind of ugliness. And it’s wrong.

Just because a second spouse doesn’t get along with the kids from the first marriage shouldn’t mean that they should be able to keep the kids away from the parent when they are incapacitated. I blame the celeb/wealthy person who doesn’t make an ironclad will/advanced directive. Instead, they ignore it and hope that the second spouse will be benevolent ignoring the problems. It never seems to work out that way. Look at what happened when Robin Williams died. The kids and the third wife went ten rounds in court over Robin’s things. In Conway Twitty’s case, his second wife SOLD everything, including the personal letters between Conway and his first wife, never giving the kids the opportunity to retrieve items from their father’s estate. Peter Falk’s widow refused to allow his daughters to even ATTEND his funeral and didn’t even tell them their father had died. They had to hear about it from their lawyer and the media.

When it comes to famous/rich people and families, especially when there are multiple marriages, this happens more often than you would think. People get really repulsive when money is involved. This case was way bigger than just the fact that Kerri being a $cientologist.

Kerri was only to be reimbursed for her travel costs to Washington State because Jean took off with Casey against a court order.

Martin said he believes the estate and trust collectively are worth about $80 million and that the major asset is the Kasem home in Holmby Hills, valued at about $40 million. Kasem’s court-appointed lawyer. Samuel Ingham, is also seeking to be paid for his work. Kerri Kasem is asking to be reimbursed for travel expenses to the state of Washington, where Kasem died after his wife moved him from a Santa Monica care facility.”

Those were legal costs…..Kerri didn’t see any money from that. It says so in the article.

No that’s different. She and Troy Martin filed and we’re granted approximately 400,00$ per this news article

No, that $500K was part of a trust from a life insurance policy and is was distributed to ALL THREE of the oldest Kasem children. Liberty will not get her share until she turns forty. Kerri and her siblings and her uncle are suing Jean for wrongful death, which has not concluded. It has nothing to do with the estate.

Which is what Casy was afraid of
