That is exactly what I have always thought, about the number of really successful Scientologist actors is a very small handful. There are a lot of really successful actors, and statistically, a tiny percentage happen to be Scientologists, but both Travolta and Cruise were successful before they joined, and the rest, like Ribisi, Juliette Lewis and the like are kind of C-list.

The other funny thing about Scientology’s strategy about putting celebrities out front is that, if you attempted to list wildly successful Jewish and Catholic celebrities, the list would be much, much longer.

Cruise and the other celebrities who deny this stuff are either complicit, by promoting an organization that uses slave labor, or they are woefully uninformed about their immediate surroundings. I also think it’s horrific that these celebrities are so enamored of an organization that treats them like royalty, and everyone else like s**t.

Yes, it would. I’m sure that he is sheltered like Rapunzel in her tower. I’m just hoping that someone who knows him might convey the message. Nothing is impossible. Look at all of the people who are reading this stuff and who are out. I would never have totally gone out if I hadn’t read Debbie Cook’s letter and all of this documentation on the internet.

PI – see my note above. I think that his sister was doing a pretty good job through all of those years while he was coming up and being viewed as a major super-star. It was after she left that he started tanking and doing stupid stuff – being in DMs valence with Matt Lauer, etc. Just sayin’.

Yes, Dee, he did, not by his own choice. And, interestingly enough, that was right around when he started having all of this PR trouble – couch jumping, etc. His sister quit, as I understand it, because it was just getting too weird. Then, without her caring direction, it just got weirder and weirder.

I think that Tom should have read Ruth Minshull’s “How to Choose Your People” because he’s doing a piss poor job of seeing who his real friends are.

TO TOM: Don’t worry about having been wrong about your choices in the past. You have the rest of your life to enjoy the true friends that you choose now. Believe me, the world will rejoice and welcome you with open arms when you walk away from your “best buddy” (who would throw you under a bus as soon as look at you, when/if you leave). Now is the time. July is the best time to make new changes. Good luck on “your mission, should you choose to accept it.” You can be a real-life hero if you walk away.

Want to know WHY they don’t have any new big time celebs?

a) People DO come in to do their seminars
b) People DO sign up for courses/auditing
c) Because they are NOT big yet, by the time that they get all gung-ho in Scientology, they are,
1) convinced that they will NEVER make it big so 2) they are just being out ethics if they don’t join the Sea Org.

So the singer/artist/actor abandons his/her career in the prime of their lives and, by the time they figure it out, it’s pretty much too late to go for it.

As a point, look at what happened to Barbara Cordova. She was a very gung-ho artist who was convinced that being in the SO was the best way that she could help artists. I was always impressed that she actually was able to have that post all those years. But we see what happened to her after working under that certain person who runs Div VI at Celebrity Centre. That person should have been declared years ago (not Barbara) for all the right reasons but she just keeps persisting like a bad, black mold

Dodo, in my life, it’s been the things that have popped out of my mind unbidden that have been the best writing and speech. The same is true for many of the items on the lists of what other people have written that I’ve compiled. They’re often embedded in the middle of a rant where the pure, unfiltered creativity takes over.

I believe it is akin to the process that J. K. Rowling has described, where the characters of Harry Potter took over her mind.

Guest pissed me off, and while the general rule is not to feed the trolls, I spotted the logical fallacy in their statement and it pissed me off. My id (?) took over.
