beau’s an old childhood friend, however we haven’t been in touch for a decade or so. i knew him pretty damn well, we’ve been through a ton of “dark moments” together, a bunch of off-the-wall situations. you learn a lot about someone when you party with them.

he was definitely a fighter who would always come up with a scheme to get out of trouble, find a solution to issues, etc. the guy was unstoppable, especially when sober. he tried a million things to get clean, his family was really supportive of him, etc. i can see how he ended up with narcanon/scientology, after other options didn’t get him fantastic results.

it’s difficult to believe he’d take his own life though (i could see something like an accidental overdose, but not something intentional). he’d always be the guy laughing, making jokes and being an optimist even when things were really tough. beau was a crazy guy (in a good way) who was a ton of fun to be around, unless something dramatically changed in the past couple of years it’s like we’re talking about two different people. suicide? beau? no way.

it wouldn’t surprise me if someone caused this.

Beau definitely fit much of the Anti social personality criteria…

Spring came and life got busy.
I am doing fine; I just have more demands on my time so that I can’t be on line and chat with my friends.
I still read and still use my finger power, daily.

10 – thank you for making the point that your kids and your family will suffer from you taking your own life. It is so true. They would always think, “What could I have done to help him” when it wasn’t anything they did or didn’t do.

Some day I’ll tell the whole story but I had a friend kill himself while still in. It was because of money pressures from the “church”, some health issues (nothing insurmountable) and because he felt he couldn’t be helped. His case was completely unhandled and no one would do anything about it, really. All they wanted was more money from him.
I couldn’t understand, at the time, why no one in the org was endeavoring to really get him fixed up. Now I do understand. No one could. They weren’t allowed to do the right thing, even if he paid them.

I tried my best to keep him afloat but, eventually, he was determined that the only choice he had to end the pressure and the suffering was to take his life. We miss him every day and mourn how unnecessary it was and that we couldn’t help him.

That’s why I stand up for “Scientologists” as being separate from Corporate Scientology. We can all laugh and deride them but, really, they are the victims of the crime. People taking mortgages out on their houses, going bankrupt, getting divorced – all from the demands that that little prick dictator puts on them.

Yes, they should be able to see, but you’re talking about people who have full on thought stopping and FAITH IN A HIGHER GOAL. They think that all of their toil is going to help mankind and have no clue that it’s only, mainly, going to help one man.

I’ve helped some people out and it’s a very slow process. Seeds need to be planted very slowly or the people just blow you off their radar. But once they see, it’s like driving from a rainy valley to the top of the hill with the sun shining on the beautiful view. When they get it, they do really get it and leave. It just takes a while to get up that hill.
