Thank you for both your courtesy and openness. I have had a rather different experience than most here. I see what it has become...and loathe it. But had a very different history in many ways. Would not want to be anywhere near it today, but unwilling to junk what I consider to be my personal history with it. Perhaps I was simply inordinately lucky? Or spectacularly blind? Who knows? :)

Hey, just wanted to say thanks so much to take the time to reply to me. I really do appreciate reading about what and how people think. I am always trying to remain open-minded about everything, and sometimes fail miserably lol I'm only human you know :) I will try to learn from my mistakes and appreciate everyone else here as well. So cheers to you and hope you are well!

In reply to <a href="https://tonyortega.org/2014/05/05/scientology-archiving-magazines-online-are-they-nuts/comment-page-1/#comment-530293">AutOmatic</a>.

"No it's not because they are constantly being lied to, and are not allowed to learn the truth about all of the aspects of their "religion"."

If that is true, why are so many leaving? Why are so many not only leaving, but rapidly speaking out? And why do you assume to know the reason for anyone else's thinking or actions?

"So don't talk to me about "walking in someone's shoes", I would never want to walk in a Scientologists shoes, I can't afford it, and don't enjoy being lied to, or abused."

I only quoted the last of your long invective. I don't believe anyone has asked you to walk in their shoes. But, not having done so, you cannot begin to fathom how or why they are still in. In other words, you cannot know the mind of another, as many here claim to do. Nor can you know the basis for their own personal journey. Not until they tell you...and even then they might not be able to completely articulate the "why" of anything.

As we've seen and heard from many on this blog who have posted a lot of their experiences, their thoughts, emotions and responses changed over various periods of time...and are still doing so.

I would agree with you on most of what you read here regarding the current situation in scio and back at least to the early 80s. I do not, however, agree with everything said about scio all the way back. And I walked in those shoes myself for 16 years. Did I experience injustice? Yes. And have occasionally experienced injustice in the non scio world as well. I see if regularly in the world today. "...being lied to, robbed blind, abused, scammed..." - these things aren't happening today all around us by the IRS, the NSA, the Fed and countless other organizations?

Did I experience great friendships, still alive and well today? You betchum, chum. Did I experience great personal gains from my auditing and training? Yes, I did. Would I have traded them to somehow remove the injustice? I would NOT. It was all part of my own journey this lifetime. I also listened to and believed lies back then. And then looked at things from a steadily expanding new awareness. When the right time came, I left. Do I regret my life and all its ups and downs, all the lessons, some learned easily, others the hard way? Not a bit.

As I said, you don't know what their life journey is about. In most cases, they probably don't know either....yet. One "gets it" when one "gets it", not a moment before. And some may not this lifetime, eiher. So be it. :/

Sorry to drag you way back here, but I wanted to say to you (semi-privately) that you were SO right about everything that happened over at WWP about FlagDown. And one of the few who had the courage to say so early on.

And I give myself a little pat on the back for listening to you, stepping back and just waiting to see what happened. It played out exactly as you said it would. I'm glad that cooler heads have taken over. Thanks for always being up-front and honest. I appreciate it.
