I thought this was a remarkably revealing interview for Leah R to give at this stage. But am surprised by some of the expectations placed on her shoulders right now. Is she obligated to write a book? Leah would have gotten love-bombed while CO$ siphoned her sitcom earnings, but was still “In” enough to pay for & endure intense sec-checks after the Cruise Wedding KR. There’s so much to assess–from that painful year as a sci-kid in Fla, to the many lies she swallowed as a sci-celeb–& decades of friendships that vanished overnight.

Decompressing from a lifetime of conditioning & insulation could take a few years; even reading once-Forbidden content about the sci-slave lifestyles of not-rich & famous dissidents could still be harrowing (hope she reads Jenna’s book among others, to find out what she was spared when her mom moved them from Fla to CA). Sorry if this is a rant, but as others have noted, it may take a long time to deal with what must be countless mixed emotions before she can decide what she feels is right to do as a public personality.

Not only that, but in some outlying areas they have newspaper vending stands for the LA Times, and it’s gone up from 75 cents to a buck-and-a-half. Say what you will about the SF Chronicle, it raised its’ prices early enough to get people to pay for a paper available from where I sit north thru the state to the Oregon border. They have an SFChronicle pay site, and I might subscribe to it because I don’t need the ads and it’s a PITA to have to run out and grab a copy from a machine that needs exact change every day. When I was getting the LA Times daily, I would get a roll of quarters so that I wouldn’t miss at least a week or so of the paper.

The decline is sad, newspapers were what I started reading about 2 or 3 years after I learned to read. I have a cousin who used to go through and read the Life Magazine(s) that one of her relatives had when they’d go to visit, and she was 5 at the time.

I hacked an account with the NYT so it logs me into there as well. I used a username and password that used to be used early when they would only let registered users read their stuff and was on bugmenot(dot)com. To my surprise, it worked for a real account, and I’ve been using it ever since. The Shadow Knows!

Remember how exciting last year was, even kicking off strong in January?! Now, 2014, it’s even bigger! I truly think we are beginning to reach the tipping point. It has been a long time coming……

I think the LA times kicks me out after 10 articles. The NY Times is the same. I just clear out my cookies and go back to reading.
