Hi Simon, I'm just now seeing your post since this is an older article and my Disqus notifications are tied to an e-mail account I rarely check.

Sounds like you've been through the ringer, my friend..... hang in there. I've never been a Scientologist and come from a nurturing family, so I cannot begin to relate to what you've been through, but I can feel some of the pain in your words.

I've often thought that Scientology's most unfortunate victims were those born into the "church", and I've always been amazed by those (like yourself) who've managed to break free after having been indoctrinated with Hubbard's warped worldview since birth. I think that's something you should be really proud of.

Life is probably never going to be easy (most people's aren't), but hopefully things will get better as you move further from your childhood. I believe most would tell you a greater sense of confidence and peace comes with age.

I couldn't agree more with your views on the American family. And I believe your observations regarding many of the children of Scientologists wanting out are right on...... as I've seen it stated repeatedly that the average age in the "church" is going up. That bodes well for the future - maybe an end to all the bullshit is within sight.

FYI, I really doubt Tory will have had a reason to see your post since this article is so old and you replied to my post. I too am a fan of her videos.

Take care of yourself, buddy.... best of luck to you in the future!

This is a long time ago. Hi Tory and SS. And everyone else. I just
read this story from a recent post on this blog. I didn't know about it.
I am from Seattle just north of Portland. This is sad and shocking but
not out of the norm. My parents neglected us kids and Scientologists 98%
of the time chose Scientology over their religion. My parents were gone
15 hours a day and even when home my mom was CSing folders and doing
Scientology work at home. My dad was part time staff and ran a business
so was barely present and barely spoke. So it was like he didn't really
exist. And when he wasn't part time staff he was back and forth to FLAG
all the time doing OT levels. And my Mom as well.

I have dealt
with mental problems and suicidal type thoughts since I was a child.
People don't realize that neglect IS TRAUMA. It is just as much trauma
as is physical abuse. Neglect can destroy you just like
physical/emotional/sexual abuse can. I lived what she lived through and
went through terrible depressions. There is no worse feeling growing up
in your teens and your parents neglect you and don't stand behind you
and support you in your life. It's a very NO LOVE life. It's terrible.
My parents are both very cold people. Sounds like her mother was too.
Just say you were 13 and you had a bad situation with a friend and you
felt down about it. They wouldn't even respond or their response would
be okay well get it handled in session or whatever. So you have no
parents or loving parties to turn to.

So this young gorgeous and
talented woman grew up with a bad parental structure that made her
depression 10x worse and by the time she was 27 killed herself. I
guarantee if you asked her when she was in her 20's if she was shocked
to be alive and she would say yes. I am 31 years old I was shocked to
make it to 20. I am 31 and can't believe it. I was supposed to die as a
teenager of likely suicide.

The real problem in America is the
destruction of the American home and American family. Most of us come
from broken homes and it destroys us. Divorce rate is like 55% and there
is a lot of domestic abuse. Mental/physical/sexual. And of course
neglect.

America is a really fucked up country. And all the
distractions of money, sex, power, addiction. It's a soul-sucking place
or it can be. Sadly this seemingly beautiful, young, smart lady took her
own life. And it's a common case around Scientology. It's a war because
of the disconnection thing. And Scientologists are generally very cold.
If you had a tootheache when you were 8 years old your parents are
likely to never take you to a dentist even if you are screaming in pain.
They will "treat" you with assists and auditing. This can cause major
trauma for a child. Especially growing up feeling like your parents
aren't taking care of you and out for your best interests. They look out
for the interests of their Church. It's a really fucked up place. It's a
lose lose cult. Those that are in are losers. And those that make it
out are losers too. Not that definition of loser. Losers in the sense
that the ones that are in lose their life to a soul sucking cult. And
those that get out often lose their family. I am a Declared SP and I
lost my family and my sisters etc. But I always say my family was lost
when I was 5 when my parents ramped up their involvement in the Church.
Me getting declared at 30 didn't destroy my family. My family was on the
road to destruction and disassociation when I was 5. It was destroyed
much before I had any say.

Scientology segregates people from
society. It makes people very neurotic and anti-social. Some of the
people that get into Scientology if they got actual help a therapist
would recommend they become more "social". Build good relationships with
good friends. Spend more time with family. People that don't go to
actual therapy like my parents who were outcasts in high school. Not
popular. Anti-social. Not well liked. If they got into actual therapy
and not Scientology a therapist would tell them to build positive
relationships with friends and family. Not cut them off from your life
and join a cult. That is very dangerous and now we are in 2016 with a
bunch of major problems in America. I mean look at addiction in the
heartland. Heroin and addiction is killing thousands. This a very
degraded country.

It is not solved by handling the addiction or
"issues". It is solved be recovering the American family and getting the
degradation out of homes. People from good homes tend to turn out
usually pretty solid. But I would say that is 10% of America. Most of us
come from some trauma/broken home. Sad but it is the reality.

Tory
huge fan. Been following you for years through your videos and posts
etc and love your literary voice and the things you do to stand up for
people like me and Tayler and everyone else. We need a voice saying that
this shit is so wrong and this cult needs to be brought down to it's
knees and corrected. Having been in the Sea Org we have severed the head
and they are now squirming. It has gone from a pretty high peak in 2001
when I was there to almost empty today. So we are winning. In 10 years.
2025 or so the Church will be a bare bones carcus with vulture eating
it. Almost nothing.

I don't know if anyone has noticed but even
the kids of Scientologists are not picking up the slack. They aren't
interested in this bullshit. They want to have a good life. Most of the
kids of longtime Scientologists that were on staff for 30 years or
whatever. Their kids don't want to be on staff. They go, "fuck that like
$150 bucks a week in doing slave labor with harassment and constant
monitoring from higher ups....uh no thanks"

So most of these baby
boomers are 60 plus. Some are passing away and/or retiring and then no
one there to fill the posts at the Org. Scientology is empty now but
will be a dead carcus by 2025. It will be less than 5,000 people
worldwide.

Estimates are about 25,000-40,000 currently. Think
about that. Basically the amount of Scientologists in the world in 2025
could fit into a decent size College basketball arena. Like an anthill
next to Mount Everest. They will be nothing. That will be a good day for
all mankind. We are moving into the Age of Aquarius and out of the Age
of Pisces which is ruled by religion. People are leaving religion in
droves.

We need to be more spiritual and less religious. It is the
only way we can turn the destructive course of mankind. God bless you
all.

Spend more time with family. People that don't go to actual therapy like my parents who were outcasts in high school. Not popular. Anti-social. Not well liked. If they got into actual therapy and not Scientology a therapist would tell them to build positive relationships with friends and family. Not cut them off from your life and join a cult. That is very dangerous and now we are in 2016 with a bunch of major problems in America. I mean look at addiction in the heartland. Heroin and addiction is killing thousands. This a very degraded country.

It is not solved by handling the addiction or "issues". It is solved be recovering the American family and getting the degradation out of homes. People from good homes tend to turn out usually pretty solid. But I would say that is 10% of America. Most of us come from some trauma/broken home. Sad but it is the reality.

Tory huge fan. Been following you for years through your videos and posts etc and love your literary voice and the things you do to stand up for people like me and Tayler and everyone else. We need a voice saying that this shit is so wrong and this cult needs to be brought down to it's knees and corrected. Having been in the Sea Org we have severed the head and they are now squirming. It has gone from a pretty high peak in 2001 when I was there to almost empty today. So we are winning. In 10 years. 2025 or so the Church will be a bare bones carcus with vulture eating it. Almost nothing.

I don't know if anyone has noticed but even the kids of Scientologists are not picking up the slack. They aren't interested in this bullshit. They want to have a good life. Most of the kids of longtime Scientologists that were on staff for 30 years or whatever. Their kids don't want to be on staff. They go, "fuck that like $150 bucks a week in doing slave labor with harassment and constant monitoring from higher ups....uh no thanks"

So most of these baby boomers are 60 plus. Some are passing away and/or retiring and then no one there to fill the posts at the Org. Scientology is empty now but will be a dead carcus by 2025. It will be less than 5,000 people worldwide.

Estimates are about 25,000-40,000 currently. Think about that. Basically the amount of Scientologists in the world in 2025 could fit into a decent size College basketball arena. Like an anthill next to Mount Everest. They will be nothing. That will be a good day for all mankind. We are moving into the Age of Aquarius and out of the Age of Pisces which is ruled by religion. People are leaving religion in droves.

We need to be more spiritual and less religious. It is the only way we can turn the destructive course of mankind. God bless you all.

This is a long time ago. Hi Tory and SS. And everyone else. I just read this story from a recent post on this blog. I didn’t know about it. I am from Seattle just north of Portland. This is sad and shocking but not out of the norm. My parents neglected us kids and Scientologists 98% of the time chose Scientology over their religion. My parents were gone 15 hours a day and even when home my mom was CSing folders and doing Scientology work at home. My dad was part time staff and ran a business so was barely present and barely spoke. So it was like he didn’t really exist. And when he wasn’t part time staff he was back and forth to FLAG all the time doing OT levels. And my Mom as well.

I have dealt with mental problems and suicidal type thoughts since I was a child. People don’t realize that neglect IS TRAUMA. It is just as much trauma as is physical abuse. Neglect can destroy you just like physical/emotional/sexual abuse can. I lived what she lived through and went through terrible depressions. There is no worse feeling growing up in your teens and your parents neglect you and don’t stand behind you and support you in your life. It’s a very NO LOVE life. It’s terrible. My parents are both very cold people. Sounds like her mother was too. Just say you were 13 and you had a bad situation with a friend and you felt down about it. They wouldn’t even respond or their response would be okay well get it handled in session or whatever. So you have no parents or loving parties to turn to.

So this young gorgeous and talented woman grew up with a bad parental structure that made her depression 10x worse and by the time she was 27 killed herself. I guarantee if you asked her when she was in her 20’s if she was shocked to be alive and she would say yes. I am 31 years old I was shocked to make it to 20. I am 31 and can’t believe it. I was supposed to die as a teenager of likely suicide.

The real problem in America is the destruction of the American home and American family. Most of us come from broken homes and it destroys us. Divorce rate is like 55% and there is a lot of domestic abuse. Mental/physical/sexual. And of course neglect.

America is a really fucked up country. And all the distractions of money, sex, power, addiction. It’s a soul-sucking place or it can be. Sadly this seemingly beautiful, young, smart lady took her own life. And it’s a common case around Scientology. It’s a war because of the disconnection thing. And Scientologists are generally very cold. If you had a tootheache when you were 8 years old your parents are likely to never take you to a dentist even if you are screaming in pain. They will “treat” you with assists and auditing. This can cause major trauma for a child. Especially growing up feeling like your parents aren’t taking care of you and out for your best interests. They look out for the interests of their Church. It’s a really fucked up place. It’s a lose lose cult. Those that are in are losers. And those that make it out are losers too. Not that definition of loser. Losers in the sense that the ones that are in lose their life to a soul sucking cult. And those that get out often lose their family. I am a Declared SP and I lost my family and my sisters etc. But I always say my family was lost when I was 5 when my parents ramped up their involvement in the Church. Me getting declared at 30 didn’t destroy my family. My family was on the road to destruction and disassociation when I was 5. It was destroyed much before I had any say.

Scientology segregates people from society. It makes people very neurotic and anti-social. Some of the people that get into Scientology if they got actual help a therapist would recommend they become more “social”. Build good relationships with good friends. Are there any other screenshots of what Tayler posted about Scientology on her Facebook? We're friends on there, but I had deactivated my Facebook before all of this started, so I didn't see any of the posts. She had deleted them all by the time I logged back on.

Hi John, I was also a friend of Tayler's. I hadn't talked to her in months at the time of her death. I had texted her a couple times over the course of 2 months, but she didn't respond at all. The last time we talked was when I wished her happy birthday. I thought that maybe I was being annoying and she needed her space, so I stopped texting her. I deeply regret not telling her how much she meant to me, especially when she really needed to hear it.

I'm still trying to find things out about her almost a year later and if there's anything else, I would
really appreciate it if you could talk to me and fill me in. My email is gothemmy92@yahoo.com. I understand if you're not comfortable with emailing me (based on your other comment about having your own problems with Scientology). Thank you for reading this anyway.
