Thanks for communicating. I wish you were here and you could give my children primarily, a good standard study tech session M7. Just M7. M7 would be just fine for my kids. Thank you again. I wish one day they can have that and on top M9s too when they grow up. Thank you for what you have done in scientology.

You are welcome. I don't however remember saying I had no wins from Scientology. Facing the wall and memorizing the Supervisor's Code, whether "standard tech" or not, was actually was quite good for me, at least I thought so at the time. I am now, however, questioning some of my wins as to their actual value. Some days I think Scientology did me more harm than good. Other days, I remember the wins. Having suppressed the harm for so long, it is now boiling to the top.
But wins or harm aside, the bottom line for me, is that I don't like being lied to or manipulated and that, my friend, is the Church's MO.
Good luck with your kids. You sound like a caring parent and I'm sure it will all work out.

thanks for replying. There is no hostility. It's just the distance and what words convey. Of course my feelings wouldn't be the highest for someone who finds just fault with LRH or says LRH didn't do anything in the area of study tech.

Thanks for telling me you are a KTL and LOC grad. That's really good. Sorry that you had to memorise the whole Supervisor's code facing the wall. Was that GAT I? I fought GAT I amongst other things and was expelled. So I am not to blame for that, neither is LRH. Memorising is rote and LRH never wanted auditors or sups to just memorise processes and codes. There are things in the Student Hat about this.

In any case as I see that you had no wins from Scientology and what you had to do there I am not insisting on why you had to quit even in your personal life. I have never seen anybody paying so much attention to WORDS and their DEFINITION. Just that, apart from the rest of the philosophy, warrants credit to LRH and what he did throughout his life.

I don't know about the Montessori schools, I will look them up on the web, see what I can find. Thanks for your advice, I am doing what I can with my children. You would be amazed as a sup to see what kind of books they are taught at school. Tons of (almost) useless information. Thanks again for the advice about my children though. I appreciate it.

Disregard below "over and out" comment. I have cooled off a bit.

First of all you are getting flippant and made an unkind inference about me i.e., that I do not know what I am talking about. I am a KTL and LOC grad and was a Supervisor for many years. I had to face a wall and memorize verbatim the Supervisor's Code which is several pages long. So I know quite a bit about LRH Study Tech. Not everything, but quite a bit.

As for your young children, I would recommend Montessori Schools and suggest that you work hard to get the Montessori program into the public schools in your area. The Montessori system seems pretty sane to me. Keep dictionaries around your home; encourage your children to use them; and encourage them to think for themselves. Treat them fairly and with kindness and they will be fine.

I wish you well.

Are you American, European or what? Do you see the educational system in your country improving? In my small country I see it deteriorating in a very rapid way. It's a big talk and obviously you are not worried much about it. But I do as I have two young children and I see things from inside.

As to LRH and Study Tech, yes obviously you are right. all the Study Tapes and all the LRH bulletins on the Study Tech were just given to him. How much of LRH have you studied really?

You had me until you said: "That's not caring, that's not understanding, that's criminal because it gives children MUs and shakes their confidence. They can't apply anything then in life and HATE MATH. Who is to blame? The child or MATH? I think this is a big problem in our society. How do you teach someone without making him a robot."

I agree that there is much that is wrong with our education system. BUT CRIMINAL? A ROBOT? Right then and there you took a left turn into crazy land IMHO. You slide right into generalities. Not everyone educated in our school system turns out robotic and "criminal" seems a little strong and it sounds like you are channeling LRH and his hyperbolic crazy talk.

FYI, LRH did not develop or invent the study tech. A married couple on staff who were highly educated teachers did. They gave LRH their research and it was what we know today as the Study Tech.

As has been said on this website before: The things about SCN that work were not developed/invented by LRH and the things that harm were. IMHO, Hubbard was a crackpot who stole good data from others and created an organization based on a kind of westernized version of Chinese Communism to make sure he got all the credit, power and wealth possible.

Thank you, as you said we can agree to disagree and exchange data etc. etc. For example, I am very much against that push on the Bridge. That's called a stat push and a crash sell.... it's the worst thing... instead of doing that, they'd better educate thetans and not commit such crimes. When i first arrived in the Sea Org, a reg of the IAS saw us with my ex wife and... got us to pay a membership with the money we just had upon arrival!!!! I was new and didn't react too badly, but it was a big ARC X. In any case as staff I didn't ever again pay the church, instead I was getting all the non confidential lectures while on missions or when off work and was studying them. That gave me quite some boost as I was not just "reading". I had done somehow a mini KTL by myself. I was very watchful with words. I wanted to grasp the concept behind the word. Each word. That was miraculous. It worked miracles for me. Opened a secret path into the land of Understanding. The world was different ever after. It was like a dream. I used to study only 3 - 4 lines in the beginning and was clearing up all the words. I surely was slow. But I can swear to God, each time I would get down to that concept the whole room, honest to God, would lighten up. So I thought that there is definitely something wrong with the rest of the students. They weren't bright. They were finishing courses but were not bright. I know right there, that they were literally going over MUs.

I am sorry... I speak a lot but that is the basis of all bad. It's not a little thing. At least I don't see it anymore like that.

I will give you an example. My daughter has done fractions at school. They just do math and numbers. They don't teach them to be able to think in concepts. He sees 2/3 but she doesn't know what's that? What does it represent. She is young and is better at theoretical courses than math. But the point is, she is not given the chance to understand at her level. No, no, no... she has to follow the course of the rest of the class or better that of the teacher who is just interested to cover all of the material of the book in time. That's not caring, that's not understanding, that's criminal because it gives children MUs and shakes their confidence. They can't apply anything then in life and HATE MATH. That gave me quite some boost as I was not just “reading”. I had done somehow a mini KTL by myself. I was very watchful with words. I wanted to grasp the concept behind the word. Each word. That was miraculous. It worked miracles for me. Opened a secret path into the land of Understanding. The world was different ever after. It was like a dream. I used to study only 3 – 4 lines in the beginning and was clearing up all the words. I surely was slow. But I can swear to God, each time I would get down to that concept the whole room, honest to God, would lighten up. So I thought that there is definitely something wrong with the rest of the students. They weren’t bright. They were finishing courses but were not bright. I know right there, that they were literally going over MUs.

I am sorry… I speak a lot but that is the basis of all bad. It’s not a little thing. At least I don’t see it anymore like that.

I will give you an example. My daughter has done fractions at school. They just do math and numbers. They don’t teach them to be able to think in concepts. He sees 2/3 but she doesn’t know what’s that? What does it represent. She is young and is better at theoretical courses than math. But the point is, she is not given the chance to understand at her level. No, no, no… she has to follow the course of the rest of the class or better that of the teacher who is just interested to cover all of the material of the book in time. That’s not caring, that’s not understanding, that’s criminal because it gives children MUs and shakes their confidence. They can’t apply anything then in life and HATE MATH. Who is to blame? The child or MATH? I think this is a big problem in our society. How do you teach someone without making him a robot.
