Belated, but related–& can’t find space for comments on latest Sunday Funs… Why doesn’t co$ just go the RESPECTABLE route of buying their own version of the PTL Channel? Combine fundraising, preaching to the converted, “Success” stories etc instead of tangling with the downright creepiness of being the sole religion (so far as I know) that advertises in prime time? It’s specific, a better way to catch whales’ attention than network sports–plus, 24-7, they may at least get occasional channel-surfers & recycle old content as Infomercials. Even a chunk of cheapo cable time would be more effective than what they do now… & who knows? They might be able to pull in a few 4am TV Zombies. Jim Bakker lasted a long time before he got sent to prison; might give Missavage a bit of breathing space–& Tom Cruise could take the place of Tammy Faye!

Sorry; spent too many years in Marketing, & the loss of PTL leaves a sad gap to be filled by a group like the scilons :

I am on east coast and saw the ad after the 11oclock news on NBC….very disturbing and made me somewhat nauseous. I mean it was physically upsetting to the point I may boycott broadcast TV.

But, if they keep promoting like this they will deplete the bank accounts, make more enemies and finally go extinct as they should.

I was friends with an OTVIII and I asked her “What does Total Spiritual Freedom mean?” I really wanted to know and I was shocked that someone who had paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to achieve this supposed state didn’t know. I continued to probe. “How is life different for you now that you have achieved this state?” After thinking about it for awhile she said that when she got upset about something it didn’t last as long. I’m just saying…WOW.

What many of you may not know is that back in 2002-2004, DM and Bob Adams (former NFL player) tried to set up Narconon Drug Rehab support groups in the NFL for the players and their families and, at least in Bob Adams’s case, loved to talk about it to virtual strangers on the telephone.

Can you imagine SCN/DM getting ahold of confessionals from that group? We could and quickly contacted the appropriate people within the NFL about it who were able to confirm the plan. And stop it.

Since DM/Bob Adams/SCN have been shut out of that plan for more than a decade now, they are trying an end run, so to speak. Please get the word out to anybody in the NFL that you know.

The ad was NOT on Fox but on staid sober CBS. Interesting.
