But there is a difference between being responsible for people's lives and sometimes having to make hard decisions, and waging a neverending war of expansion which involves sacking cities and putting people to the sword, no? I am not very keen on politicians or national leaders, I think most of them are corrupt shits or sociopaths. There are honourable exceptions but an enthusiasm for war is a definite vice: I can never forgive Tony Blair for his macho posturing and duplicity in leading us into an unjust and gratuitous war; and Churchill was a bastard who happened to be in the right place at the right time to save the UK from Hitler (the entry of the US was crucial in winning the war, but the UK needed to hold out till that happened), so he was our bastard, but he was a right bastard all the same.

You are absolutely right. Ever since I learned eggs I’ve kept an egg pan and following a reasonably long period of negative reinforcement I’ve managed to get my oblivious family to leave it alone.

Omelets are my parlour trick I pull out when guests stay over (or I go visiting). They’re the perfect offering: a lot of fun and can be tailored to a person’s likes/needs.

Sorry to hear about the Monster. Food issues suck.
