Interesting. One of my teachers said once that there are 2 kinds of truths, deep truths and shallow truths. The opposite of a deep truth is also true, whereas the opposite of a shallow truth is false. For example, ‘red means stop’ is a shallow truth, because it is true but there aren’t situations in which ‘red means go’, that’s just gibberish. ‘It is important to touch people’ is a deep truth, because it is very true, but there are also situations in which ‘it is important not to touch people.’ My teacher told us this as an illustration of the paradoxical nature of reality. I am not sure where this leaves Hubbard and his insights: I guess everything he came up with was a mixture of deep and shallow falsehoods.

“High art” is a good turn of phase characterizing the effort needed to wrap one’s comprehension and future ‘think’ while trying to audit the material.
