Absolutely not trying to get a rise out of you. Just a vastly different point of view. I generally seek answers for health questions under "alternatives" and pretty much always find them. Sure a lot cheaper. :)

I found it. I lived in Glendale for 1 school year 60 years ago, but down close to Forest Lawn. I went to Cerritos Elementary. I can remember that we actually got out of class to watch the Eisenhower inauguration on a black and white TV they set up in a classroom. (Jan. 1953).

Yes, there is what is called the Glendale Mission just down the street a block, but not many go there, as it is small and only has intro services last I checked. It is just that Glendale California has the largest concentration of Scns of any city due to its easy access to all of the Orgs around L.A., including the Big Blue PAC Base, with the Advanced Org, ASHO, L.A. DAy, L.A. Foundation, and then the Celebrity Center nearby as well, within ten miles or fifteen minute's drive. Few actually live in Hollywood or bad parts of L.A., so these communities are the preferred residences, including renting rooms to those who travel from afar to study at an Advanced Org.....next stop is Flag land base in Clearwater. Gee, it feels writing this, and knowing this, after all these years of not thinking about them. I bet a lot of the blown ones live up there, too. Maybe there is an Indie org hidden away somewhere.

My experience of physicians has been vastly different..

If those are your true feelings and you aren't just trying to get a rise out of me, let's hope you stay healthy for the duration..

Have a nice evening, Flunk..

I saw your post just before I went out the door. Is there any reason there'd be a bunch of $cientologistss in the same place? Is there an org close by?

I hope things went well.

Actually, I've never been to a scio doctor, don't think I've ever actually met one who identified him/herself as a doc and the ones I was discussing were never near it. But if you're telling me that all the medicos are high minded fellows and gals with only their patients good in mind, I've a bridge I'd be willing to let go of for a very good price. I've direct experience of some very nasty tricks played on me to force me to accept surgery as the "only" solution.

I am not saying there are no good doctors, but there really is no way to tell what they have going on in their minds, often subconsciously, just like the rest of us. :) Even some in that industry have raged against the number of extremely high priced unneeded surgeries performed annual.

This is no casual "thing" I picked up in scio. Long before I'd seen some very unpleasant things re the med industry (I no longer refer to it as a profession) which even has its own union, the AMA.

Ask any physician about risk vs. benefit in regards to pretty much any kind of medical treatment..

And, since you've been a scientologist, I don't doubt your experience with profit-minded physicians.. Any physician working for scientology would only be doing so for money.. If you want a good doc, you'll have to look outside the cult, my friend..

Let me tell you, it is pretty weird right now blogging about this stuff with you and the others, due to the fact that I just realized that the people around me in this Glendale, Ca. Restaurant are Scientologists. I forgot that about Glendale. It has the highest concentration. Two different tables are murmuring about their kids being on the TRs course, and Student Hat course. I am sheilding my iPad, and should send out a call for back up.

Ok, thanks, SPF. And I'm certainly with you emotionally on the loss of the young lives, and the need for genuine professional caution and care in the use of these drugs. It is much too casual. We just had a scary neighborhood incident with helicopters and squad cars over a situation where some of these meds had been incorrectly prescribed to someone who was depressed, and a paranoid became a suicide, with some wacky meltdown moments on facebook. The family took him back to the doctor, who then altered the prescription. So we are all sensitized to what we observe, and we are all good people, especially on this blog, who do not share the exact same information or opinions on some things. Sorry I brought something up that seemed so incorrect to you. We are probably closer in our thinking on this than we know. Keep on, and don't be afraid to kick me a bit, but lightly, when I appear to be off base.
