I realise you don’t have your model at hand, but I think the European number you provided is too optimistic.

A few month ago, the German Verfassungsschutz estimated the number of Scilons in Germany to be 4.000, down from 6.000 a decade ago. I pull these numbers from memory and unfortunately, I’d be very hard pressed to dig up the source. I’m fairly confident they are accurate though, since I do clearly remember my surprise about how high these numbers were. After all, the government has been very active there and the relative numbers are still similar to the UK, which historically has had a much closer relationship which the cult. But there’s another argument in favor of this number, which is that they provided a breakdown of the numbers per state. This means they probably made a roll-call to all intelligence agencies at the state level to arrive at that number. So I guess we should go with 4.000 in Germany if we want to stick with conservative.

Italy is big question mark for me. They are relatively popular there, and even got to be named their own continent. I have no numbers at all, but I’d put in 2.000 as a conservative estimate.

Then there’s Hungary (like Italy, relatively popular) and Denmark (Sea Org Base). MarktheHungarian posted significant issues at their Ideal Org last week, so I don’t think we need to go beyond 500 there. In Denmark, 500 (100-200 public/staff and 300-400 Sea Org members) is probably a bit too convervative, but let’s stick with that to arrive at an nice round number.

Then we have the rest of Europe, I’ve been alternating between stating 1.500 and 2.000 while typing this. There’s 250 in my tiny Holland alone and although there are several countries with 100 members or less (Norway, Austria, Ireland) and several with even less (Sweden, Finland), there are dozens of countries with some sort of Scientology presence for which we don’t have precise numbers. Since we are being conservative, let’s stick with 2.000

So my number for Europe (ex UK) adds up to 9.000. I realise that number is overly cautious, so 8.000 or perhaps 7.000 is probably just as appropriate for a conversative number.

If I might suggest a correction to 8.000 for your model, and assuming you correctly remembered you earlier European number at 3.000, it would bring the total back to Mike’s number of 30.000, which give us a nice tri-angulation as well.

In Krustie’s case, it is **not** cruel. It is an IMPLANT SHE NEEDS!!
