I was interested to see him point out that sub-titles had been provided for people who are deaf. Since the application of the “tech” in Scientology is supposed to cure illness, then why are the deaf and blind not healed? Jesus didn’t seem to have a problem curing either illness. The following passage is taken from the Gospel of Mark, chapter 10;

“Then they reached Jericho, and as Jesus and his disciples left town, a large crowd followed him. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus (son of Timaeus) was sitting beside the road. When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus of Nazareth was nearby, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

“Be quiet!” many of the people yelled at him. But he only shouted louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

When Jesus heard him, he stopped and said, “Tell him to come here.” So they called the blind man. “Cheer up,” they said. “Come on, he’s calling you!” Bartimaeus threw aside his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus.

“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked. “My rabbi” the blind man said, “I want to see!” And Jesus said to him, “Go, for your faith has healed you.” Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road.”

If Hubbard had truly found the keys to human suffering and illness, then why couldn’t heal the blind and the deaf?

p.s. the faith that Jesus was referring to, was that Bartimaeus recognized Jesus as the “Son of David”, the Messiah whose coming the prophets had foretold many hundreds of years previously.

I found a Co$ “mission” here, in short, it’s only open a few hours a day. Well…Smack me silly. There is a “mission” here. SMH!!! It operates on Canal St., which if you know NOLA, is a huge, long street that leads in and out of the French Quarter. It’s had TONS of businesses on it that have closed & reopened as something else (Not really a great place to have a business) and where ever they are it seems they’re WAY down the street and not anywhere near the activity. I can’t imagine them having much traffic there. At least not the kind ($$$) they’re hoping for. It’s still early here so I called and they have a message that gives their hours. It’s only a few hours a day Tues – Sat. Not exactly prime hours down in that area (most people are at work or school at those times)

I’ll be making some calls today. 🙂 I can assure you whatever they’re doing, it’s not going to last long here. But from what I can see:

Bad location
Lousy hours
Seems to be a small space

They probably aren’t doing much anyway.
