Thank you. Same goes for OT levels - you read about the "incidents" and then audit them out.
Clever trick.

Just finished watching the COB himself speak about the restoration of the Congress films. As a non-Scientologist I was curious to actually look and see the miserably, pretentious, little bully who physically assaults his subordinates. I noticed that they carefully placed him behind a lectern that covered him 180 degrees from the waist down. Presumably to hide the large box that he must have been standing on.

I was interested to see him point out that sub-titles had been provided for people who are deaf. Since the application of the "tech" in Scientology is supposed to cure illness, then why are the deaf and blind not healed? Jesus didn't seem to have a problem curing either illness. The following passage is taken from the Gospel of Mark, chapter 10;

"Then they reached Jericho, and as Jesus and his disciples left town, a large crowd followed him. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus (son of Timaeus) was sitting beside the road. When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus of Nazareth was nearby, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

“Be quiet!” many of the people yelled at him. But he only shouted louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

When Jesus heard him, he stopped and said, “Tell him to come here.” So they called the blind man. “Cheer up,” they said. “Come on, he’s calling you!” Bartimaeus threw aside his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus.

“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked. “My rabbi” the blind man said, “I want to see!” And Jesus said to him, “Go, for your faith has healed you.” Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road."

If Hubbard had truly found the keys to human suffering and illness, then why couldn't heal the blind and the deaf?

Dave
p.s. the faith that Jesus was referring to, was that Bartimaeus recognized Jesus as the "Son of David", the Messiah whose coming the prophets had foretold many hundreds of years previously.

Jon Atack mentions Hubbard took from Hervey Cleckley much of his information about the anti-social personality or SP. I did not read all of Cleckleys book Jon implies Hubbard borrowed copiously from Cleckley.
That does not seem very plausible. Hubbard may have read the book but his simple description of an anti-social personality clearly was something Hubbard found on his own. And an SP label is something the church uses to alienate people who are dissatisfied with the church or fight back against incompetence, abuse or injustice.
It does not mean the people are anti-social personalities. In fact they usually are social personalities.
I think Hubbards policy letter about social and antisocial personalities is very accurate. It has little to do with the practice of declaring people SPs by the church. In many cases that practice is a method of shutting up detractors, whistleblowers, and abused persons. In most cases the SP label has nothing to do with the qualities of good or bad in a person.

Thanks Theta...I responded to your comments earlier, but now they aren't showing up. So if you got them...I'm sorry for being repetitive. I found a Co$ "mission" here, in short, it's only open a few hours a day. Is in the worst possible place you could put a business and I'm already looking into what I can do to get them the hell out. :) If you have Twitter, feel free to give me your handle and I'll DM you more details about their dump here in town. Sending you much love and thank you for the warm welcome. :D

Well...Smack me silly. There is a "mission" here. SMH!!! It operates on Canal St., which if you know NOLA, is a huge, long street that leads in and out of the French Quarter. It's had TONS of businesses on it that have closed & reopened as something else (Not really a great place to have a business) and where ever they are it seems they're WAY down the street and not anywhere near the activity. I can't imagine them having much traffic there. At least not the kind ($$$) they're hoping for. It's still early here so I called and they have a message that gives their hours. It's only a few hours a day Tues - Sat. Not exactly prime hours down in that area (most people are at work or school at those times)

I'll be making some calls today. :) I can assure you whatever they're doing, it's not going to last long here. But from what I can see:

Bad location
Lousy hours
Seems to be a small space

They probably aren't doing much anyway.

Best interview of Jon Atack I've ever heard! A must listen for Scientology historian experts to hear this excellent interview!

Thankyou Tony, and that is why people ought to buy Jon's book if they have not yet.

And also why people ought donate to this blog, though the paypal link (thankyou again to Manhattan attorney Scott Pilutik for running that).

This interview with Jon is so well done, and just how detailed Jon went in Jon's researches into Hubbard's life!

Jon's detailing the Fletcher Prouty aspect of Hubbard's "sheep dipped" Naval history is must listen to.

Claire's discussion of the CCRD, what a breath of fresh air, but then Claire's thoughts too are so clear and refreshing.

This is an amazing blog, just astounding that you are doing all this Tony!
