You’re dealing with a true believer (ref: Book by Eric Hoffer). They won’t accept any information that comes from outside their bubble of cult sources.

In arguing with that type of person, you’re going to find that they will define terms in their specialized way so that you think that you’re talking about the same thing, but you’re not. If you accept their definition, you’ll lose an argument, because you’re playing by their rules.

An example of a specialized definition is the word ethics. What is ethical to them is what is declared ethical by Co$.

Also, realize that to a $cientologist, LRH was nearly a god, who did phenomenal things in his youth. This is not backed up by his own papers or those obtained by the Freedom of Information act from the government. His claims of miraculous self-healing are total bullshit, because his medical records in the Navy don’t back up any claims of war injuries, for example.

You know, you might do better to link to http://www.youtube.com/user/ToryMagoo44 on youtube. I feel like she has a special rapport and always aims her vids at those still in the COS way of thinking. As much as you think that won’t get to them, sometimes a gentler, sweeter approach like Tory’s might get someone to start embracing their doubts and seeing the “wog world” as less confrontational and more of a… waiting hug. I tried to think of a less cheesy way to put that, but it just wouldn’t go away.

missionary kid i stay in constant conflict with a cos member on a legal blog i read daily. he/she continues to sing the praises of the cos and defends cob i used not to say anything because i didnt have enough information but now that i do.. oh boy do we go at it. especially when i post links the sites like operation clambake. they truly hate that site. so to irk them i post it on all articles that has to do with scandals in religion. the more he/she sings the praises of cos the more i sing the praises of the ex members. and their stories. everyone isnt lying on the cos and if the cos was innocent they wouldnt feel a need to go to the lengths that they do to destroy ex members. they wouldnt care what a ex member said. is how i see it

well april not entirely i mean the corporation formerly known as the government also loves the distraction the defections and scandals that cos is having.. it keeps the people from looking much deeper into what they are doing. and they have never been known to let a good distraction go to waste ex: trayvon martin and george killerman uh i mean zimmerman

even though ive been reading the boards on all the ex members who have sites or who have posted comments on the sites for years it was the death of Lisa Mcpherson that started me on this road and ive never stopped in being brutally honest i wondered how so many people could fall for so much bs. but the one thing i noticed in all the ex members was they were all happy and literally somewhat much more free and intune under L.Ron Hubbard. and when Miscavige took over and all the bs began that was when they began to understand the reality. i dont knock anyone or thing. and i learned so much from all of them about the cos. that i was able to stop my God daughter from being suckered in. and im so very grateful to all of you. if it wasn’t for your stories posted on those with blogs i would have never been able to dissuade her. to this day im still not sure how she almost fell into their clutches im just so very grateful that with the help of each and every ex member she didnt…

I’m suspecting that many of the comments in those two categories are clams. The way to tell is to reply that they sound just like a $cion.

Do it politely, and you may end up in an interesting conversation where you can educate someone. I did that over at Huffington Post, and the person obviously learned a lot. Once informed of Co$ crimes, they were blown away and appreciated that Co$ was not just another religion.

I know! I love the way she’s just getting little hits in, enough to get people looking for the truth. Of course, I’m seeing lots of “she needs to get over it, already” comments on coverage of this in mainstream press (along with the “all religions are cults” stupidity, as if Scientology really is a religion). I suspect it’s either OSA or just idiots who have no clue just what she’s getting over. Scientology is not a religion someone just gets over. They’ve taught her to think badly of herself and it’ll take more than a few months for her to stop talking about it. And she’s barely said a thing… I mean, compared to what she could say.
