Just thought of this! Since it is almost time for kids going back to school; I wonder if this ad in the Beaverton Valley Times wasn’t really aimed at fresh out of high school kids (or seniors) and their parents. I would suspect that those two groups would be excellent targets for potential Co$/SO recruitment. Get the kids sucked in and along the way hook their parents too! That way SO could sell “tech” and convience the kid and family that the college fund would be better spent on The Bridge to Total FAILure!

Hot damn that is evil! I feel evil for even thinking it up, but you have to admit that I make some good points and one hell of a conspiracy theory!

That is very true. I was thinking about recruitment last night and came to the conclusion that they could still pander to the upper middle class/wealthy. Or at least the ones who rarely use the internet to learn things. They would be prime targets IMHO; they are of the generation that still partakes in the whole “new age” spiritual journeys/quests, they don’t use the internet much outside of ordering stuff and Facebooking, they have stable bank accounts/pensions, and they are in the period where Mid Life Crisis occur. I wonder just how many Mid Life Crisis individuals got suckered in this rotten church because Co$ pandered to their vulnerability. Co$ is like a man eating hawk on crack when they are after their fresh meat and can smell desperation or vulnerability, IMHO of course! 😉

No, surprisingly they didn’t gas me out for this procedure. I am kinda happy that they didn’t. I don’t like loseing control like that and much prefer to be awake. I can take being poked in the mouth with a big ass needle (after 2 well placed shots the rest are easy). After all I close my eyes and find a happy place! They took out two wisdom teeth (one upper right and one lower left) and pulled one molar that had busted due to me not getting it capped in time (lower left). However, the socket for the wisdom tooth on the lower left did end up becoming a dry socket and that hurt like a son of a bitch. It felt like someone just right hooked me in the jaw bone. I got that fixed and cleaned out yesterday. He was surprised that I wasn’t freaking out or crying, but could tell by how I was talking and looked that I was feeling very rotten. So, he refilled my painpills and sent me on my way. I love ice. Ice is my best friend at the moment!

No I did not! Do you know which paper? I haven’t even looked at a WW or Mercury in months and since I quit delivering the Origonian I haven’t touched them as well.

It doesn’t surprise me that it was aimed at the West side of the Portland Met area. The West Hills are loaded with rich people, so are Lake Oswego, West Linn, and parts of East Morland (near Reed College; it is on the SE side, but still a pocket of potential whales). But, one should not discount the Nob Hill, Mt. Tabor, Lauralhurst, and North Portland wealthy either. Portland is weird. We have pockets of the haves and have-nots; sometimes only a block or two separating them.

Thanks for the heads up about the ad tho! Please let me know which publication it was so I can track it down and write an editor!
