Absolutely right on Jeff! You popped the bubble. This whole thought control process is a cat chasing it’s tail, like every other “self improvement” technique or process. The only difference with Scientology is that they have incorporated all the thrills of belonging to a mind control cult.

Plus it’s simultaneously a Ponzi/multi level marketing scheme where the newest members attempt to bring in newer members to be fleeced from their money. And they have swindled their way into being a tax exempt organization. Miscavige should be arrested and jailed just as were Hubbard (I know, he flew the coop before they could nail him) and the original founders of this scam.

Scientology, as I see it from the outside, is merely a thought control process that you place between yourself and everything else. It seems to me that it’s the polar opposite of truly experiencing life, it’s joys and wonder.

Well, I just bought the book on Amazon. I have been lurking here for a few days…was routed here after watching a recommended Youtube video with Tony on it by TheLipTV. After an intensive several week-long dive down the rabbit hole of trying to figure out the appeal of Scientology…I am very cult wary, but at the same time have been fascinated by cults. I still don’t get the attraction of Scientology, and from all the videos I have seen of L Ron Hubbard, I don’t see any charisma. But more upsetting to me, is the crimes that they are committing all whilst hiding behind the cloak of religion, tagging every critic as a religious bigot. I hope your book will provide some further insight.

Where’s the ‘bankrupt’ segment though? Waitaminute… IT’S ALL ONE BIG ‘BANKRUPT’!!!! Aaaarrghhh!!!!!!!!

So sad. 🙁 Poor guy; after pouring so many years and so much of his substance into this, what else can he do but subsume himself into this hyped reality, to giving this overblown testimonial to justify to himself and to others that it really was worth it to find out Hubbard’s whole cosmology is just bad science fiction. Afterwards, he was too “embarrassed” to be seen, too overcome by what he’d learned to want anyone to see him; I’m sure it took a good few hours for him to massage his world view into rationalizing his grand entry into OT VIII as something more than a gyp and a big mind-rape. I can well imagine he had tears running down his face. 🙁

Do you think maybe they really still use the Xenu story after all the public hype? Is it possible they’ve actually after all this time replaced it with just some more double think psycho-babble or some pretentious koan to save face and refute the rumors? “Oooh! OT VIII and I’ve learned ‘the egg is both inside and outside and truth is of the egg!!’ So saith LRH!!”
