FYI: The Church does teach courses to inmates. The program is called Criminon. The prisoners enroll on basic Scientology courses and the Church recruits volunteers from its ranks to correct their papers. I knew someone who used to go to a prison once a week as a volunteer for the Criminon program. He really got a lot out of it. I think he thought he was making a difference. I think the Criminon Program is the Church’s answer to the criticism that it doesn’t help the poor and the disadvantaged. But it isn’t to get converts. Prisoners are, on the whole, way too financially strapped to be Scientologists.

I know Kathie. She hasn’t spoken with her own daughter in ages. She let the young girl fend for herself in LA because the girl came out as gay at age 14 or so. Broke her daughter’s heart.
