Oh hai. I came back here to look something up and saw this. As a fairly regular WWP participant I would say it is just the opposite – that some of the Chanology folks resented energy going to Occupy, the Arab Spring, or the recent anti-rape initiative. But, Anonymous is made up of individuals, and they do what they want. Some wanted to support Occupy, and there were enough of them to make it happen. I will be forever grateful to the Anons who made the video about antiviolence at protests. Some wanted to work to end rape culture. Some wanted to deride those folks, but, guess what – Anonymous has made a real difference in at least two horrendous cases (Steubenville and Retaeh Parsons). There is no way anything would have happened with the Steubenville case otherwise, and likely the same is true of Retaeh.
Also, I think you may already be a member. You successfully raided the Potland Idle Morgue! 😉

Because it was very unclear at the time what had happened. You might remember me as Dr. Lilly von Marcab, very intensely involved in those days, and it had been my understanding that the Scilons paid LE for the database. Later I heard that he traded it for a week’s supply of ramen. 😉 There were several different stories going around. To be honest, I didn’t try very hard to learn what had really happened, because on top of being a polemicist I also had a busy full-time professional career, and what’s done is done. I know that Heather also had such a career. Others, perhaps such as yourself, had more energy & time to track down the exact details of the story.

On June 25th of this blog, I meant to send you and richelieu jr this silly post but Tony’s second post of the day distracted me and I forgot to do so.

Not so very long ago, at an age where I was long meant to not entertain such adolescent thoughts, I use to wish that David Bowie and Annie Lenox had a child together and that child was “Moi.” (This was decades after my teenage longings to be Janis Joplin – her early years, long before Woodstock.)

Now, after eagerly looking forward to you and richelieu jr’s, verbally and visually, brilliantly succinct and witty posts each day, I wish richelieu jr and Observer had a child and that child was “Moi.”

Ok, now imagine my total embarrassment as my old, boney, and veiny finger nervously hesitates (er, the shaking is not a result of palsy) over the “post” button.

Ash is SO LUCKY to have an auntie like you!! It is heartbreaking that your sister isn’t doing these things, and one day Ash may realize that, but she will always have these amazing memories of you. You are clearly instilling wonder and amazement and the love of reading in her life!

If she can enjoys the Star Wars movies, there is nothing in Harry Potter she can’t handle. It is a great story to be read aloud and if she can read a sentence or paragraph here or there at age 3.5…well, that is amazing and a real testament to your parenting skills.
