I don’t think they touched on it mainly because the term ‘wog’ is here to stay. Especially, in the scio crowd whether they be corporate or indie. The term may not be as heavily used and with such negativity among tolerant Indies, but I don’t think anyone is going to come up with another label for ‘wogs’ like me.

They could have also just been served some humble pie that really couldn’t have been stated more clearly and really did not like to have to acknowledge being served that slice. $cio’s are not alone in using this tactic! That tactic has been used on myself, but with Born Agains in Alaska.

I had seen a post on here that was from someone in the UK and they stated that “wog” was a UK derogatory name for black people. I don’t know if this is true or not, but it has a derogatory tone. And you are right about it being used by Hubbard and because of that people will always use it in a derogatory fashion. I do like your interpretation tho!

In a way “clam” could be used in a derogatory fashion. I have begun to use that term more recently, because I am lazy and don’t want to type out scientologist. But when I have used it I felt it carries with it a negative feel to it. Maybe that is because I find clams to be gross and they stink. But, I can admit that us “wogs” pretty much do the same thing a “clam” does; throwing around labels out of laziness, ignorance, or just plain, “I don’t like you therefore in my mind you are now a ‘wog’/’clam’.”

Two words. Red Sharpie. The lack of basic writing skills both shocks and annoys me. The SO kids are not receiving much education- we regularly read poorly conceived and written crap. Children deserve an education. A solid education. It is a promise we make to our children, and part of the American social contract.
